Principal's Message to Panther Families
Dear Panther Families,
On Wednesday many of us watched in disbelief of the seditious actions of the rioters that stormed the Capitol building, scaled its wall, and disrupted one of the greatest demonstrations of democracy in adhering to the peaceful transfer of power. I am both angry and ashamed for what transpired this week. This may have left many of us feeling unsettled as we continue to navigate the daily challenges of living through a pandemic.
Yesterday evening, Dr. Doyle and the School Board emailed a joint statement to “officially and unequivocally condemn the actions of the protesters who violently invaded our nation’s capital.” I echo this sentiment and take to heart our Board goals of Respect, Trust, Collaboration, and Equity that serve to guide our values as an institution.
At this time we may not know what the next few weeks will bring us in terms of political discourse and/or actions of mob mentality. However, it is incumbent upon our Faculty and Staff to be committed to the tenets of the U.S. and California State Constitutions, the guiding principles/values of our Board and those expressed through our North Star: VistaCARES philosophy as we continue to educate and support our students at Vista High School.
We would like you to know that the Vista High School administration, teachers and staff are here to serve and support our families the very best that we can during these challenging times. We encourage you to reach out to your teachers, counselors, administrators or office staff should your students need any assistance.

Vista Unified School District Community Updates
School Accountability Reports (SARC)
State law requires all public schools receiving state funding to prepare and distribute a SARC. The purpose of the report card is to provide parents and the community with important information about each public school. A SARC can be an effective way for a school to report on its progress in achieving goals. The public may also use a SARC to evaluate and compare schools on a variety of indicators. A hard copy will be made available upon request at the school site.
The SARC contains all of the following:
- Demographic data
- School safety and climate for learning information
- Academic data
- School completion rates
- Class sizes
- Teacher and staff information
- Curriculum and instruction descriptions
- Postsecondary preparation information
- Fiscal and expenditure data
