Elkton Elementary School Memo
Distant Learning Resources for Parents/Students
March 30, 2020
I hope this message finds you well. The Governor's closure of schools for the remainder of the school year has created anxiety and uncertainty about your child's education and well being. I understand and empathize that you are under stress and dealing with circumstances beyond imagination. This situation is one that we never anticipated and is new to all of us. I want you to know that your child's teachers and I are doing everything we can to hold tight to that relationship that has been established and continue building a strong partnership with you in furthering your child's education and well-being.
There will be some bumps along the way, but your child's teachers, counselor, and administrators will continue to reach out through phone calls, emails, and letters to keep you informed and provide your child with learning opportunities.
Our next packet-pickup will be Monday, April 13th- 4:00-6:00 PM. It will follow the same format as last time. You will not have to exit your car. It is important to send someone to get your child's packet. There will be a list of daily assignments (dated) that your child is to complete. It will be simple but engaging. None of the work will be collected or graded. Don't worry about grades. I can't even tell you when or if report cards will come out. It is OK! Here is a great article I came across called, "Grace Greater Than Grades".

These are certainly unchartered times. The COVID-19 pandemic is creating challenges and disruption for all families. Even though the school building is closed, learning will continue. Your efforts are very much appreciated and together we will get through this.
Feel free to contact your child's teacher or call the school during the week (298-1511) (8:00-4:00) if you have a question or concern.
Stay healthy and safe.
