NEW LEBANON SCHOOL
Weekly Updates
¿Necesita leer nuestro boletín en español?
Hello Bobcat Families! We hope you enjoyed the first official snow of the season and our first snow day of the school year. A reminder that we have no school next Friday, January 14th. We hope to see you at our PTA Meeting on Tuesday at 7pm on Zoom - we have a special guest speaker, Media Specialist Ms. Amster, who is sharing information for families on "Common Sense Media" - see more information below. Enjoy the weekend!
Fred Camillo released this statement yesterday about covid testing kit distribution TODAY...
The Town has received an additional allocation from the State of Connecticut. The kits will be distributed while supplies last and free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis to Greenwich residents from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, at Grass Island Park. A portion of the test kits are being directed toward special service providers in Town, as well as to Greenwich schools, housing facilities, health care facilities and essential Town workers.
Proof of residency via either your valid Connecticut driver’s license or your 2021 beach pass is required. Further details can be found here: https://www.greenwichct.gov/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=1402
Vaccination Records
Several parents have asked if we are collecting copies of your child's vaccine records. While we aren't requiring the sharing of those records with the school, if you feel comfortable we encourage sharing the records with Nurse Nancy. She would be happy to add it to your child's vaccine records at school. You can email her at nancy_minowitz@greenwich.k12.ct.us. This helps us immensely with contact tracing, as children who are vaccinated are not required to quarantine due to an exposure to Covid.
Magnet Application - NOW OPEN!
Do you have friends in other areas of town who are interested in New Lebanon School? You can live ANYWHERE in Greenwich and come to New Lebanon School! Our MAGNET SCHOOL APPLICATION is now live on our website and is DUE on February 1, 2022. Our Magnet Open Houses will be virtual on January 20th at 9:00am and January 20th at 6:30pm.
PTA Meeting - Tuesday, January 11th at 7pm
Please join us on Tuesday evening - the session will feature guest speaker Ms. Cheri Amster, our Media Specialist. She will be speaking with parents about "Common Sense Media" - how to guide your child toward safe online behavior - what to watch for, how to talk to your child about their vulnerability on the internet, and more! We hope to see you all there!

Meet our new Special Education Teacher, Ms. Lyons!
A note from Ms. Lyons...
I have a Masters in Special Education from Fairfield University and a Masters in Elementary Education from the University of Bridgeport. I have a provisional teaching certificate for the state of Connecticut, as well as four years of teaching experience in both public and private schools. Most recently, I covered a maternity leave for a special education teacher in one of the elementary schools in New Canaan. In my free time, I like to ski in the winter and go boating in the summer. I grew up in Greenwich and am excited to be returning to teach in my hometown and to be a Bobcat!
