ROYAL SUMMER COURSE WORK 2020
AP & IB PSYCHOLOGY
Teacher Contact: Mr. Tauber
"The summer assignment for all AP or IB Psychology students is to relax, recharge and be kind to themselves and others. Watch a movie, read a book or some articles, meditate, take a walk and smile. See you in August." - Mr. Tauber
Teacher Contact: Mr. Hemphill
1. There is NO SUMMER ASSIGNMENT
2. You will need a graphing/statistical calculator for the course - it is an absolute must and it is difficult to do the class without one. The calculator of choice is the Texas Instruments TI-83 or TI-84. The TI-83 costs less and does almost everything the TI-84 does. The 84 model is definitely more user friendly. It's up to you what you want to go with. If you already have a TI-89, that will work too. Any other models or brands of calculators are NOT recommended as I do not use them.
3. Please speak with me if you have any reservations about the class including the calculator. I have had a very good track record helping students pass the AP Test. If you trust me I will help you reach your full potential.
4. I am telling you about the calculator now as it is an expense to add to your other Fall school expenses. We will begin using this calculator the first week of school.
It is highly recommended to start looking soon to save yourself some money. Below are links to Amazon for both calculators I mentioned. You should also check Ebay and sales at Walmart, Target, Staples, Office Depot, etc...
Check with friends or family who have taken a higher level math class they may let you use theirs or buy it cheap. You can find them used also.
FRENCH HONORS 3 & IB FRENCH SL 1
Teacher Contact: Mrs. Coco
The purpose of the summer homework is to keep up and improve your skills of listening and understanding French. If you are unable to do all of it, you can still take French 3H or IB1.
Visit the website tv5monde.com every week. Listen to the news, play some games (divertissements), check out the “Langue française” section for some vocabulary and language practice, or watch some other programming. Check out the website over the summer to get used to it.
Every other week, watch any DVD you’d like, but switch it to French language (not subtitles!). It’s best if it’s a movie you are familiar with. This will GREATLY help your listening comprehension skills, especially if you make a conscious effort to hear the words. Turn in a list of the films you watched (total of 5 films).
