Jr. Genius Bar expanding at EJA!

Student's from Mrs. Collier's 2nd grade class have been helping some teachers reset apps, run updates, and charge the iPads in 1st grade! 4th grade students in Mr. Dusharm and Mrs. Pacuck's class will be starting to assist teachers later this month as well! We look forward to continuing to expand the Genius Bar Program to more grades to provide valuable opportunities for our students and assistance for our school communities!

MS Students using iMovie to creatively demonstrate their learning

Amazing things are happening as the 7th grade team is beginning to work on their videos! They are imagining possibilities and finding very creative ways to make them happen. Here are two examples:

One group working on their weather forecast uses the Smart Board as their weather map. They took several takes and revised with "real world" ideas including the host "fake chat" at the end of the segment

Another group worked with an app called Green Screen. They are finding maps, revising a script and coordinating actions so they can film a realistic weather forecast for Old Forge.

In addition, last month Ms. Peluso created a fabulous project for her 8th grade ELA students that was high up on the DOK and SAMR scales! She used the website photos for class, the iMovie app, google classroom, the engage ny modules, and other resources to make this project possible.

Please feel free to reach out to Tech if you want to try something similar!
