Student LED Conferences
Student Led Conferences will be held at LAHS on Tuesday, January 29th from 4:30-6: 30 pm. This is an open house style event with dinner served after your SLCs are complete. These are MAJOR assessment grades. If you and your family are unable to attend on 1/29, there will be a mandatory make-up option on 1/31 with community volunteers. Family members may also come on 1/31 during the day. Raffles will be given away for attendance!
Intent to return forms - Please return these forms as soon as possible to your crew teacher. It's important that we have these forms so that we know how many students plan on returning next year.
Parent Leadership Council Meeting
All parents are welcome to attend the Leadership Council Meeting in room 121 at 6:00 pm on February 5th, Come give feedback on many topics and get involved in the school!
Intent to Return Form
Send this form as soon as possible back to school for students to give to their CREW teacher. It is important that we have these forms as soon as possible so that we know how many students plan to return next year. If you did not receive the form you can fill it out, print it or if you do not have a printer, you can send it by email to alma.mcdaniel@leadpublicschools.org. Just click on the word form or the PDF document below entitled Continuation Eng-Spa 2019-2020, this form is in English and Spanish fill it out and send it by email to alma.mcdaniel@leadpublicschools.org or print and give it to your student.
December ACT and College Acceptance/Scholarships
College Acceptance/ Scholarships - If your senior receives an acceptance letter or scholarship offer, please remind them to bring in their letter so we can make a copy for their file at school!
Financial Verification - If your student has been selected for verification for one of their colleges, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I am happy to walk you through the process.

Free Teen Driving Lessons
Registration is now open for the Metropolitan Police Department’s FREE Driver Awareness Class for high school-aged teens, scheduled for Saturday, February 16th from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This popular course will be held in the community room of the MNPD’s South Precinct, 5101 Harding Place. It is open to all high school aged teens, regardless of county of residency.
The class, taught by Nashville police officers, will not offer behind the wheel training, but rather will focus on impaired driving, distracted driving and overall traffic safety. Free English and Literacy Classes for MNPS Families
We are offering weekly English classes for parents and students (ages 4-12).
Families who are interested can attend an information session at the following 2 locations.
Goodlettsville Middle - Monday, January 28th at 5:30 pm, 300 S Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072

UniCycle Partnership
We are partnering with Unicycle (A School Uniform Recycling Program). UniCycle is a school uniform recycling program that orchestrates the collection and re-distribution of “Outgrown, not worn out” clothing to provide Standard School Attire to LEAD or METRO students who need it.
What we Collect? Gently used or new clothing that meets the requirements of Standard School Attire at LEAD or METRO Schools. This includes: Collared shirts in solid colors, all sizes, long and Short-sleeved (Polo style). Shorts, Pants and Skirts in Khaki, Navy blue and Black. Girls’ Uniform Dresses in Khaki, Navy Blue and Black. Belts. Leggings - All colors and Patterns (to wear under skirts and dresses).
General Announcements
Seniors need to make sure and bring in $31 for their cap and gown for graduation.
If seniors have any baby photos they'd like to have featured in this year's Yearbook, please send an email to Ms Desnoyers at christina.desnoyers@leadpublicschools.org.
There will be snacks for sale during breakfast and lunch on Friday. These proceeds go to support the dance team.
Upcoming Basketball Games
Look for schedules on coming out soon for our girl’s basketball and boy’s basketball on the bulletin board, near the front office or in our website http://leadacademyhigh.leadpublicschools.org.
Come out to cheer on our LEAD Panthers! On Tuesday, January 29th,
there’s an AWAY district game against STEM. We play another AWAY game on February 4th against McEwen. JVB plays a HOME game against East Robertson on Tuesday, February, 5th with another HOME on February 7th against Nashville Central Christian.
*Girls Varsity starts at 6:00 p.m. *Boys Varsity starts at 7:30 p.m.
