Principal's Message
It's hard to believe spring break is already here! As you enjoy this time off with your student and family, I encourage you to continue to practice health mitigation measures and stay well. Your students will benefit from reading, either with you or independently, every day. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again in April!
Sincerely,
Jennifer Short
Ms. Colarossi's 1st grade class recently shared reasons they love morning meeting! Check out a couple of their videos below.
SOL Tests
The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) requires that all state and federal assessments must be delivered under secure, standardized testing conditions in the presence of school personnel and may not be administered remotely to students. Students in any instructional model (100% distance or hybrid) must attend school in person to participate in testing. To support our students’ health and safety, Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) will ensure that health mitigation procedures are in place and social distancing is observed. While we encourage all students to participate in assessments, we understand that some families may retain concerns about the in-person testing requirement. Families who do not wish for their student to participate in state and/or federally mandated assessments may indicate their refusal by completing this form. Please complete this form by April 5th. If you have any questions, please email Colt Fletcher, Assistant Principal and School Testing Coordinator at JeffreyColt.Fletcher@lcps.org .
Playgrounds
Playground structures now approved for use. LCPS follows updated Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and Virginia Department of Health guidance. The following procedures should be followed when students use the playground equipment:
- Students will be supervised while using apparatus/equipment to ensure safety and adherence to mitigation strategies.
- Students must sanitize their hands immediately before and after using the equipment.
- Students must wear masks while using equipment.
- Students should physically distance to the greatest extent possible.
- LCPS will continue to monitor data and make adjustments as necessary.
