Children and the Internet - how to keep your little ones safe
Wow, what an interesting start to 2018! We are now settled back into our routines and working on achieving our new goals. Did your family set a family goal for 2018? Perhaps you are trying to have one evening meal together during the week...we know our schedules get busy, but making time to share a meal as a family is key! Perhaps you plan to have an hour of family time while unplugging from ALL electronics....what a challenge in today's technology-driven world!
Next month we will focus on building empathy, kindness, and respect for others.

- We have a Community Youth Service (CYS) Social Worker assigned to our campus to help parents find resources in our community.
- Our school participates in the Houston Food Bank's Backpack Buddy Program.
Mittelstadt Elementary is proud to announce our first ever Student Council in 2017-2018. Our fifth grade students participated in the democratic process with giving speeches to their classmates, holding elections, and then electing officers within the STUCO. Our goal for this year is to educate our students on leadership skills, giving back to our school, and handling responsibility. We are very excited as we venture into this new realm and look forward to seeing what our students produce during STUCO.
We are very excited to continue our Watch DOG Dads program! We have many dads signed up for the program! The students love to see their dads get involved with the school and we appreciate the extra support. If you are new to our campus or want more information about the program...please join us for our Desserts with Dads Info. Night.
If it is your first time volunteering on campus, please take a moment to sign up for a Cervis account and complete a background check form by clicking here. This step has to only be completed one time and will cover any type of volunteering on campus, field trips, parties, and Watch DOGS.
Latest from the Library
Did you know that students learn about internet safety during lessons in the library? Staying safe, while using all of the wonderful technology available, is an essential part of becoming a digital citizen.
Here's a great video library of age-appropriate videos to help guide students (and parents) in becoming responsible digital citizens.
See you in the library!
Changes in Transportation
Transportation changes should be made before 3:00 PM by calling the front office at 832-484-6700.
Dojo and email are awesome and we love them for communication purposes. We do not love them for transportation changes. The teacher may be absent, or busy teaching and not receive your message in time.
We appreciate your help and support in making sure all of our Patriots get home safely.
Mittelstadt School Store
Mittelstädt has a school store that is open to our students every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:45 to 8:10. We sell school supplies, spirit shirts and a variety of special fun items the kids enjoy. Stop by and check us out!
Klein ISD Policy for Birthday Celebrations at School
Use of Wireless Devices While Operating a Motor Vehicle
The Texas Transportation Code currently prohibits the use of a wireless communication device while operating a motor vehicle within a school crossing zone. The Legislature has added a new offense to the Transportation Code that prohibits the use of a wireless communication device while operating a motor vehicle on any school property with a crossing zone and while the reduced speed limit is in effect, unless the vehicle is stopped or the driver is using a hands-free device, or there is a specified emergency. This offense was added to address the problems of individuals using wireless devices while driving through school parking lots or driving lanes. This new legislation permits Klein ISD police officers to stop and cite individuals operating a motor vehicle on a school parking lot provided the vehicle is in motion at the time of the offense. This provision is in addition to the existing law enabling officers to cite drivers within a school crossing zone.
