Hi Everyone,
Food for thought in a turbulent world.
Some remarkable things going on in the Holy Rosary world!
- The Siena Gang were fabulous at Telethon.
- Reconciliation was beautiful with reverent children and wonderful priests.
- The Interschool Athletics Carnival yesterday was noisy with animated and engaged children.
- The Buddy Mass this morning was reverent and lovely.
In all cases all of our children are to be congratulated for participating so very well. Thank you to our priests, teachers, parents and guardians involved for making school life a cherished experience for the children.
Next week, more activity with many children in the Hale Connect Triathlon next door on Tuesday, and then the Primary Schools Triathlon championships at Champion Lakes on Friday.
We are very grateful for the kind and thoughtful offer from our P&F to host a World Teachers Day morning tea this Wednesday for all of our staff. It is a lovely gesture which I know will be well received!

CPSSA Athletics Carnival 2023!
A clean sweep in leader leaderball, with Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 teams all taking first place! We ended the day placing second overall!
Well done to all involved in the spectacular day!

Year 2 Excursion to Constable Care Safety School
On Monday the 16th of October the Year Two classes visited Constable Care Safety School. They have been busy learning all about safety at school, home and out in the community. Their excursion to Constable Care Safety School taught them all about how to be safe on a bike and as a pedestrian within the community. Thank you to the wonderful parents who accompanied the classes, supporting students to follow road and pedestrian signage.


‘Tis the season in the library! Along with the Christmas books, students can read the 2 amazing books written by our senior students in the “Write a Book in a Day” competition. Congratulations to Jared in year 6 who won the raffle for Term 3. Jared brought his library bag each week and his reading is blowing us away! Well done Jared! We only have a few more weeks of borrowing so please do help your children to remember their bags. All books are to be returned by week 6 so I have time to follow up damaged and lost books ready for 2024. Thanks for your support with this.

Both year 2 classes have now completed the Aussie Optimism ‘Feelings and Friends’ programs. In year 4, our last group of Seasons for Growth is almost complete. I am starting to meet with past SFG groups to have reconnectors and am spending time especially with our year 6 SFG students. Year 6 Council Groups started today for term 4. The sunflowers are looking great in Veritas, the staff and students basketball game is in serious preparation and the Christian Service group is excited to support Vinnies with their Christmas Hamper appeal. Our local Vinnies has an often-empty pantry. If at any time you are near the Church, you can pop food items in the basket inside the foyer. They would be most grateful.
Please see attached information about a High School preparation workshop for year 6 parents on 1st November. Clare Eaton is an excellent speaker with so much knowledge and I think you will find this most useful. She also suggests that parents may also like to listen in to her STARTING HIGH SCHOOL interview with Maggie Dent last week on her ABC LISTEN Parental As Anything podcast.

The new Executive Directive from Catholic Education Western Australia requires schools to alter the Administration of Medication Request Forms for children being administered medication at school. Please use the form in the link HERE.

The Colour Run was a great success!!
Thank you to all the wonderful children and parents who helped us fundraise a massive $19,000 for our school. This amount will go towards fixing up the basketball courts, hopefully early next year.
Also, a big CONGRATULATIONS to our Year 1D’s and Mrs Neil for taking out the win for the classroom with the most money raised!! All the children in 1D will receive a free ice cup plus a little something for Mrs Neil.
A reminder that today is Teacher Appreciation Day and in honour of this next Wednesday the P&F will be holding a morning tea for all of our fabulous staff.
We are very grateful to “Elmstock Tea Company” for donating an amazing selection of teas for our teachers to enjoy, thank you to Nigel and Penny it is greatly appreciated. Check them out below…

Safeguarding Vacancy
Our Lady of the Rosary is currently seeking a second Safeguarding Officer. This voluntary position involves keeping all of our Parish safe and aware of the Safeguarding program as well as completing a once a year Audit. Training and ongoing support is provided.
