Notes from Mrs. Riehman
Dear Lake Louise Families,
The year is off to a great start and the staff and I are so excited to have everyone back in the building. Our students have been participating in practicing school routines, building relationships with their teachers and classmates, and reviewing the expectations at Lake Louise. We thank you all for your flexibility, patience, and partnership while trusting your outstanding child(ren) with us each day.
If you have a change of transportation, please call the office at least 30 minutes prior to dismissal or send a note to your child’s teacher in the morning. Our staff is busy teaching, and may not see their email prior to dismissal. We want to make sure all of our students are safe.
The assessment window for MAP and Fast Bridge begins next week. Your child’s teacher can provide you with their classroom schedules. We will provide parents with the results of the assessments after the windows close.
Picture Day is this Thursday, September 1st. Please see below for additional information.
It's always a great day at The Lake!

Car riders and walkers will enter in Door 5. Students that ride the bus enter at Door 1.

Breakfast and Lunch Information
Both breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students at Lake Louise School who would like to eat the food served each day. Students at LL are offered FREE breakfast and lunch daily starting the first day of school as part of the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program, funded by the federal government.
Please remind your child(ren) that if they had breakfast at home or bring a lunch to school that they do not need to go through the lines for the school provided meal. Although they may prefer the item of the day (pizza is a big hit!), we want to ensure that your child eats the delicious meal that you lovingly prepared for them.
NEW This Year:
- We have moved to a 20-20-20 lunch rotation. Students have 20 minutes to eat lunch and 40 minutes of recess time. Students who do not finish their lunch within their 20 minute timeslot are asked to stay and finish their meal. We do not want students to feel that they have to rush through their meal. We do encourage students to focus on eating rather than socializing though, as they have ample time to connect with friends during recess.
- Each student has received a specific barcode (with a 6 digit number) to use when getting breakfast and/or lunch each day. This code is scanned by our breakfast/lunch coordinators. Students may bring a lunch from home if they prefer to do so as an option too.
Information from our Nutritional Services Department may be found HERE for your review.

Thank you for submitting any needed medical paperwork to the Nurse's Office. Please see the following COVID information regarding our plan as it relates to COVID protocols. Please kindly email me with any questions related to your child's health needs at school.
Nurse Vivi Orozco at orozcov@ccsd15.net
It is very important that all required health documentation is on file with the nurse no later than October 15, 2022. Students who do not have the required documentation after that date will unfortunately be excluded from school until it is completed.
All students new to District 15 will require a current physical exam with all immunizations up to date (Certificate of Child Health Examination), and students new to the State of Illinois will require an eye examination. This form is available in the school office, online, and here: State of Illinois Eye Examination Report.
All students should provide proof of immunizations by October 15, 2022 or the student will be excluded from school. The list of current immunizations can be found on the district website here: IDPH Health Requirements.
