Register for Hornet Care!
Azle ISD has launched Hornet Care in partnership with the Parker County Hospital District Outreach Program, giving students and staff the ability to receive telemedicine medical care onsite at each campus.
Using telemedicine and a Medpod Medical Cart in the nurse’s office at each Azle ISD campus, the healthcare needs of students and staff can be met in a convenient setting with each campus nurse.
Families and staff members can enroll now so that paperwork is complete when services are needed.
Students with private health insurance or who are covered under Medicaid will provide that information during enrollment and co-pay will vary and be discussed prior to the visit. Students who do not have health insurance will be provided options.
Azle ISD staff members receive three visits at no cost and pay $30 for each additional visit.
Visit the Hornet Care website or contact the SBHC Liaison at 817-458-3331 if you have any questions.
Bus Information
Parents should check their Traversa Ride 360 app to review student route information.
Remember to check the Traversa app regularly for any changes to student routes and turn on notifications for important updates throughout the year.
Attendance Matters! Every Student, Every Day!
From our Azle ISD Handbook on Attendance:
Parents must document reasons for an absence for the absence to be considered excused. Parents of students in all grades shall provide written notice of why an absence occurred within two days of the absence unless there are extenuating circumstances as determined by the principal. Notice received after two days of the absence shall not be considered for establishing excused absences except in extenuating circumstances as determined by principal or superintendent.
Please email dsuratt@azleisd.net with parent/doctor notes.
Attendance makes a difference!
School starts at 7:45am and ends at 3:15pm.
Please help your child attend every minute they can.
Attending school every day = 100% attendance
Attending 4 days a week = 80% attendance = more than half a term missed per year.
Attending 3½ days each week = 70% attendance = more than a quarter of the school year missed.
An average attendance of 80% or less across a child’s school career adds up to missing a whole 2 years from school.
Being late for school reduces learning time. If your child is 5 minutes late every day they will miss three days of learning each year. If your child is 15 minutes late every day they will miss 2 weeks of learning each year.

FAQ ?!?!
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Can my child bring toys to school?
A: No, no toys are allowed, including "slime", Pokemon cards, or any items deemed a "toy" unless the teacher is asking for them for a special day. We also encourage no devices, phones, tablets, iPods, etc be brought to school. If a child must bring them because you need to communicate after school, the child will need to make sure the phone is turned off and in their backpack during the school day (7:45-3:15).
Q: What if I need to tell my child's teacher something quickly before school starts?
A: You will be asked to come into the front office and leave a message to be delivered to the teacher. Teachers are busy greeting students, monitoring breakfast in the classroom, and pulling intervention groups starting at 7:45 am. We ask that this time not be interrupted, and parents contact the teacher during their conference time by phone or via email.
Q: Can my child bring a water bottle to school?
A: Yes! Please make sure the water bottle can be secured to not spill if tipped over. No open Yeti cups, etc.
Q: What school supplies will my child need?
A: Azle ISD School Supply List
Q: What happens if my child gets sick at school?
A: Azle ISD School Health Services

Q: How do I update my child's information (phone numbers, etc.) in the school's system?
A: Changes should be make in txConnect. Contact the campus secretary, Mrs. Carpenter, if you need assistance.
Q: What do they serve for lunch each day?
Q: What should I pack in my child's lunch box?
A: Healthy foods that your child can open easily as they have 30 minutes for lunch each day. We cannot microwave during lunch for students. Please make sure to check your child's lunch if they pack their own to ensure it is healthy and there are no toys in the lunch box.
Q: What is the district policy on bullying? What if I think my child have been bullied at school?
A: First, it is important for each student to report any bullying or threats to the nearest teacher or adult at school as soon as possible so school officials may take appropriate action. Here is some information to know: What is bullying? If you feel your child is being bullied at school, please report to your child's teacher and administration immediately and complete the following form on Azle ISD's webpage: Bully Report. An investigation will occur based off of the Texas School Safety Center and Azle ISD protocols. Parents will be notified of the outcome of the investigation.

GREETINGS, SILVER CREEK FAMILY!
I am very excited to be part of a school community with great students, parents, and educators. I will collaborate with you to build a nurturing, positive culture that promotes engagement and academic excellence for all learners. It is important for me that students, teachers, parents, and community members feel welcomed and encouraged to be part of each child’s learning experience. I believe that we are partners in continuing our district’s mission of making a difference to every child, every chance, every day. This will ensure our Hornets are on the path toward becoming AISD Graduates! In the end, it is always about the kids. Working with students, staff, and the community is not a job for me – it is a passion. I am a life-long teacher, life-long coach, as well as a life-long student. I am deeply committed to both the academic and emotional success of all of our learners at Silver Creek. I am proud to be an Azle Hornet, and look forward to getting to know all of our Silver Creek families this year!
Make sure you are following Silver Creek's Facebook, Instagram, and/or Twitter! Information will be posted all year to those platforms. #SCCHAMPS
