We are ready for a nice regular 5 day week. There are lots of exciting things going on to look forward to. The kids have been really great and working very hard. We will be launching some fun units that will have guest speakers and lots of neat activities builiding up to open house.
A thank you to our watch dog and reader Mr. Ojeda! The kids laughed so hard over the silly books and we enjoyed having you with us.
I am sure you heard all about the fire alarms going off. There was a baluster that had issues and started smoking. My class was so amazing! They stood quietly, handled the realization that actual firetrucks and firemen were there. Stood in the cool, wet morning air without complaint and were perfect! I was so proud of them.
As we were watching the inauguration the kids spontaneously stood up and sang America the Beautiful all together. It was such a beautiful moment to see all of our diversity, uniqueness and many nations all standing side by side singing. If only our country and our world could be more like this amazing little class of precious children! Love it!
Have a great week!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Language Arts/Social Studies-We studied the life of Martin Luther King Jr. We made a timeline, read lots of books, watched some videos and are almost done writing about him.
Science-We learned about rocks, volcanoes, weathering and erosion. We will be moving on to water.
