Hello Woodsy Owls!,
Labor Day Weekend already! This year is sure flying by.
I want to thank all of our volunteer moms, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and community members. We realize that jumping through hoops of getting fingerprinted and completing a TB screening is time consuming, but keeping our children safe and tended to is priceless. I just want to say THANK-YOU. Your kiddos love seeing you there helping out, and the staff of SHS appreciate your helpful hands more than we can even express.
Campus Safety
September 8th will be the last day to walk your student to class. We appreciate that students take time to get accustomed to being back on campus, and we love that you are taking the time to help them with that transition. By September 11, we want all non-students entering the campus to check in at the office. By that day we are hopeful that your student will be back into (or into for the first time) the groove of school and ready to be big kids and walk themselves to their classroom. If not or your are helping them carry something large to their classroom, please just pop in the office and get a visitor's sticker. This includes all parts of the campus including (but not limited to) the cafeteria, the kindergarten playground, and the general quad area. Thanks for understanding that we are doing this to keep all students safe at all times.
Remember, it takes a village and we are glad you are part of ours!

Dismissal Time
As some of you are waiting to pick-up your kiddos in front of the school, we are finding that at times there is no room for the students to walk through. Please as you wait out front for your kiddos to come out, leave our purple marked pathways clear for the teachers to walk their classes out. These aren't marked on the ground; however, if you are just aware and looking around I am sure that you will see where the classes need to walk. Thanks a bunch!
Students Who Give a Hoot!!
Sierra Hills School Has the Best Parent-Teacher Club EVER!
Thank-you for your safe driving.
Huge Kudos to our Woodsy Owl Parents for their safe driving.
I personally so appreciate how well this community knows and follows the parking lot procedures. Mrs. Sindel rewarded one parent with a Starbucks card. Not only was this parent driving safely and following all of the parking lot rules, but this parent went the extra step and had their child's name and the teacher's name posted for us to see, so we could get the child ready to load the car. This is very helpful and some of you may wish to follow suit.
You may drop off and pick up in the bus loop AFTER the buses have left. I failed to mention that in the last newsletter, so thank-you to those who asked me.
I hope you all have a great week.
