Student Materials Pick Up Plan
As has been shared in the Enews the past few weeks, the students’ materials have now been packed up by staff and placed into labeled bags along with their classwork and artwork. On Tuesday, June 16 and Wednesday, June 17 families with current students in Kindergarten – 4th grade will drive through our drop off/pick up loop in the front of the building in designated alphabetical order (see schedule below) to pick up your child’s belongings. On Friday, June 19, families with 5th graders will come to pick up student materials and have a special 5th grade “Honk and Wave,” in class order to celebrate their promotion (car decorating is encouraged!).
During these 3 days, parents will drive up to the front of the building to a staff member. In this email is also attached a car tag for your last name and student/s names so that staff will recognize which car the bags go to. Please print this out and hold this up or place it on your dashboard (you can also create your own if you are unable to print). After letting the staff member know who you are, you will move to the next stop to return any checked out library books or classroom materials that your student may have brought home (classroom books, book bags, Reading Zone books, items for your teacher, etc.). Here you will also pick up your purchased yearbook. If you have not purchased one but would like to, email president@maplehillspta.com to reserve one today. There are only a limited amount available so email today!
You will then move to the last stop where a staff member will bring out your student’s bag and artwork to your car. If you are picking up medication, the nurse will bring that out to you to sign off as well. As you are driving along these checkpoints you will have the opportunity to check out the artwork created by each class that will be for sale online in the online PTA auction from 6/17- 6/22. You will also be able to see our Lost and Found items (check out the Virtual Lost and Found too). Please remember for safety to stay in your car at all times and a staff member will come to you. Thank you!

So, to prepare please:
1) Mark your calendars for the appropriate date and time (make arrangements with a family member or friend if you are unable to come at your time).
2) Check your student’s books to see if they are from the Maple Hills’ library or classroom library.
3) Gather any classroom materials or items to return to the teacher
4) In Reading Zone? If so, please gather book bags and Reading Zone books to return.
5) If you have not already purchased a yearbook and would like one of the limited ones still available, email: president@maplehillspta.com to reserve one today. We will hold it for you to pick up and pay for during your materials pick up.
6) Borrowed district laptops and hotspots will be returned to the original distribution site on June 23, 24, and 25, not Maple Hills Elementary.
Please remember that this is your opportunity to pick up your student’s school materials, classwork and artwork from earlier in the school year. For cleaning purposes, we cannot keep these items until fall so unfortunately anything left after June 19 will be thrown away.
See you in the drive through on June 16, 17, and 19! Can’t wait!
