Principal's Message

It looks as though our country is going to face another wave of COVID-19. We hope to keep schools open as long as it is safe to do so. We will be following the guidance of the Burlington County Department of Health and the New Jersey Department of Education. It is so important for us to remember the basics of what keeps us safe: wear a mask to protect yourself and others, try to maintain social distancing of at least six feet, wash your hands often or use hand sanitizer and try and avoid large crowds (especially indoors). I know these solutions are not foolproof, but studies have shown them to decrease the odds of spreading the disease. With the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, please be aware of large gatherings. We wish you all the best and we hope everyone is safe.

On Thursday, our students were treated a video of a decorated veteran, Major Dolph Hoch, who served in three branches of the military, was a teacher, and has used his activity in Ultraendurance Iron Man competitions to bring awareness to PTSD and those suffering from cancer. After the interview, there was a slideshow of family members of staff and students who have served our country. Please click on the link below to see the entire video.

Our teachers are in the process of setting up our annual fall conferences to update you on your child’s progress. Thus far, we are very happy with how things have gone with our remote and hybrid schedules this year. Instead of live conferences scheduled on certain dates, the teachers will be setting up their own conference dates and times which will happen either through Zoom/Google Meet or on the phone. Your child’s teacher will be in touch to set up a time to meet by mid-December.

The Annual PTA Holiday Drive to help our local, less fortunate families began this week. An email with all details was sent out this week, and, for our Hybrid families, your students should be bringing home their adopted child's wish list this week or early next week. All New, Unwrapped Gifts and Clothes are due by December 11th. A link to all wish-lists, organized by home room, can be found here: Holiday Drive Wish Lists

The Loose Change Drive is also running until Nov 20th. All money collected will be used towards supermarket gifts cards for our families.

Please be sure to reach out to our nurse, Mrs. Gambino. Students returning from states on the NJDOH travel advisory list must quarantine for 14 days upon return. We will coordinate getting your child set up in a remote classroom for the length of their quarantine.

This week we will feature a couple of class pictures from the past. In the first, you see Mr. Martino's class from 1999-2000 and in the second you see Mrs. Brady's class from 1996-97. I know I like that guy in the middle and the guy in the lower right, Go Cowboys!
