Principal Ponderings: Things NOT heard during 4 Straight Snow Days from Parents
This may just be my house, but I'm sure some of you may agree with a few or all of these statements there were NOT said this week.
- School has been canceled for tomorrow so make sure to get me up at 6:00 am, no later.
- I like how you guys play together without putting your hands on one another.
- No, you don't have have to brush your teeth if there is no school.
- Just leave that stuff there. I'm sure you'll pick it up later without being asked.
- You guys haven't watched enough cartoons today, how about some more Netflix.
- You had a snack 10 minutes ago, you must be starving, how about another.
- It's great how well you share with one another.
- I hope they cancel Friday, as well.
I'm glad that we have a Superintendent, and others in the area, who look out for the safety of our students and staff in times like these. The time with family is nice, but I am looking forward to being with everyone and getting back to our routine.

Time to Reconsider Your School's Retake Policy
When it comes to treating depression in teens, I wage war against the illness. It is, after all, life-threatening.
Tweet of the Week
What I'm Reading: Raise Your Game, Alan Stein, Jr.
It would be difficult to think of a job or profession that does not require some amount of service to others. Alan touches on the idea of servitude in the "Coach" section of his book (it is in three sections: Player, Coach, Team). There is a great paragraph he writes on serving others.
Serving others is not an act of charity or sacrifice. It's not about giving yourself up, bottling your own desires, or being walked over. It's about providing for those who need to work with you so that all of you rise to your highest level---together.
In helping others we help ourselves.
