Havelock North Primary School 15th June 2021
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Kia ora koutou,
The school administration staff (Kerin, Paula, Shona, Greg and I) are now working out of the back offices with the entry to the temporary main office being the blue door next to Room 13 as advertised in last week's edition. While it is a little cramped in these spaces, it will be well worth the wait, as we anticipate the new space to be in operation near the beginning of 2022.
A special welcome to our new students Lockyer Seng and Alexandra Hoyle. Well done on making such a positive start to school.
Recently we had new families attend an afternoon tea in Room 21. We are most grateful to Richard, Andi and the New World team for sponsoring the afternoon tea for this occasion. Much appreciated!
Congratulations also to our Year 0-2 skippers who did a tremendous job on Friday. These students were well supported by parents, Year 6 students and the teachers. Thank you to Mrs King for your coordination of this event.
A reminder that school photographs take place this Thursday 17th June. If possible we ask that students wear their plain blue polo shirt, rather than the performance short. Thank you.
Thank you and have a great week everyone. Hopefully we'll see you at the Hui on Thursday.
Ngā mihi

Whakataukī - Weeks 6-10
Resilience / Manawaroa :
Kia mate ururoa, kei mate wheke
Fight like a shark, don’t give in like an octopus
This whakataukī encourages us to not give up. When fishing, a shark will fight the whole time it is on the line. In comparison, an octopus will surrender once it’s been hooked. No matter how hard things get, let us fight like a shark.
Whānau Hui - This Thursday 5.30 pm - 6.30 pm
During Matariki week we are really keen to put down a hangi at school as we last did in 2019. For this to happen we need parent helpers, as well as donations of kai for the hangi. This will form a major part of the discussion at the Hui.
Values Medalists
Thank you all for being outstanding role models in our school.
School Photos this Thursday 17th June
After the photos have been taken, your son or daughter will bring home a slip with their unique Access Key detailed on it. This Access Key will display all the photographs of your child. It is then an easy process for you to shop online and purchase the photographs you want.
If you place your order within three weeks of receiving your Access Key you will receive free delivery for your photo orders. Photo Life has agreed to dispatch all the orders back to the school and your child will bring their photographs home.
Any orders placed after this three week period will be sent directly to your specified delivery address and will incur a $6.00 Postage & Packing charge. You will see this message when you go online to view and order your photographs.
Please be aware we are not doing sibling photos again this year due to time restraints.
