American Education Week
Hello Raider Nation,
This coming week is American Education Week! This week is about appreciating the hard work that goes into providing students a quality education. It takes an entire cadre of professionals – custodians, cafeteria workers, teachers, administrators, and support staff – to provide that quality education. Parents have been invited to spend the day or a portion of the day. Please be prepared to welcome them and make them feel invited in your classrooms.
This week is our first quarter Honor Roll ice cream celebration (Wednesday). Just as last year, it will take place during 4th period in the senior cafeteria. As in the past, if you have some time to assist in scooping, we would love to have you! We have just over 1,000 students on the Honor Roll!
This past weekend students from Atholton had an opportunity to participate in a student leadership conference in Washington, D.C. entitled LEAD DC. The mostly juniors and seniors had an opportunity to interact with students from across the country to talk about making a change in their schools. I am excited to hear some of the great things they have learned and how they are planning to work to make Atholton an even better school. A huge thank you to Thomas Stuppy, Lt. Col. Reinhart, and Natalie Kelly for chaperoning this weekend.
I hope you will get the opportunity to see the fall play -- She Kills Monsters. Nathan has graced us with his wonderful morning announcements and peaking our curiosity. Hope to see you there this coming weekend.
I put out a call and you all answered. Thank you Samantha Rangos, Eric Posner, and Krista Bopst for agreeing to serve as the teacher liaisons to the PTSA. Please feel free to see either of the three if you have any questions regarding PTSA-related items or would like anything shared with the PTSA.
See you tomorrow!
Robert
