Congratulations Class of 2021!
A special CONGRATULATIONS to the students of LIBRA Academy featured below who have been accepted to and will be attending prestigious IVY League Universities, next Fall! We are so proud of you!
In the Spotlight
Dulce Silva, Dartmouth College
Daphne Valenciano, Dartmouth College
Ruby Valdes Pena, Duke University
My name is Luz Ruby Valdes Pena.
- I will be attending Duke University in the fall as a Math major with a minor in Cultural Anthropology.
- As of right now, I hope to become a Math teacher, but that may change.
- Both of my parents finished high school, but never went on to college. As a collective, they decided to come to the United States and encourage my sisters and me to do all the things they didn’t. Both of my parents are very emotional. As a result, conversations about college and growing up were very normal. They always remind me that, no matter where I end up, I have their undeniable support. They never let go of my hand and I can always count on them to be by my side for every major event in my life. Even though I didn’t have anyone around me to show me the ropes or help me apply to college + scholarships, their love, encouragement, and support were enough to lead me the right way.
Isabel Inda, Smith College
Isabel Inda
- Smith College
- Major in Art
- I aspire to become an animator or work anywhere in the film industry.
- I greatly appreciate College Match for helping me through technical things like the SAT and applications since they provided me with counselors and teachers to assist me through this process. I really wouldn't have discovered a school like Smith without them. But I wouldn't have chosen Smith if it wasn't for the immense support from all my family members. My parents were willing to let me go out of state as long as I give it my all and take advantage of every opportunity; That's my one promise to them.
