Welcome Back!
Starting a new year can be exciting but also challenging as we adjust back into the routine of school.
The Student Assistance Program wants to remind you of the supports available to all students who may be struggling with the transition, or are looking for some additional support here in the school building.

MHS Honors Awareness Months
Suicide Prevention Month
Suicidal thoughts, much like mental health conditions, can affect anyone regardless of age, gender or background. In fact, suicide is often the result of an untreated mental health condition. Suicidal thoughts, although common, should not be considered normal and often indicate more serious issues.
September was Suicide Prevention Month — a time to raise awareness and discuss this highly stigmatized topic. In addition to shifting public perception, we use this month to spread hope and vital information to people affected by suicide. Our goal is ensuring that individuals, friends and families have access to the resources they need to discuss suicide prevention and to seek help.
Week of Respect
During all lunches, students voluntarily pledged to:
- support others who have been hurt or harmed
- treat others with kindness
- be more accepting of people’s differences
- help include those who are left out
The pledge:
- Says that you care and shows that you are against bullying and united for kindness, acceptance and inclusion
- Strengthens the cause, uniting those who want everyone to feel safe at school, in their community and while online
- Sends the message to students who are being bullied, that they are not alone
- Helps create an environment in which more people are supportive of others
Together we can create a world without bullying!
