Community Service
As a reminder, students in classes of 2025, 2026 and 2027, 40 hours of community service and 4 papers are required for graduation, and an additional 285 hours are needed for the green cord. For the class of 2023, 30 hours of community service and 3 papers are required for graduation, and additional 225 hours are needed for the green cord.

Scholarships, Awards and Other Financial Aid
YoungArts invites artists ages 15–18, or grades 10–12, in the U.S. to apply in the discipline of their choice. The 2024 application can be found here, and the deadline to apply is Friday, October 13.
Ohio University offers customizable honors and scholars programs that give high-achieving students the flexibility they need to personalize their academic experience and participate in engaging and enriching co- and extra-curricular activities. Explore all of OHIO's honors and scholars opportunities at ohio.edu/honors. For best consideration, deadline to apply is November 15.

Florida State University announces that the Presidential Scholars Program — and its accompanying merit scholarship — is now set to grow, with administrators prepared to accept more students than ever this year, eyeing a goal of doubling in size from 30 per class to 60.
Illinois Tech students receive an education that focuses on highly relevant, tech-driven topics in the classroom and guaranteed hands-on experiences and personalized mentorship outside of it. Want more outcomes? 90 percent of their 2022 graduates have obtained full-time employment or are continuing their education. And their graduates begin their careers with mean average starting salaries that are well above the national averages: $75,352 for undergraduate students and $87,258 for graduate students.
Portland State University waives the $60 application fee for students who are admitted at an Instant Viking Application Workshop. See Ms. Peters if you are interested.
With the Early Financial Aid Guarantee at Whitman College, their Offices of Admission and Financial Aid will share your seniors’ merit-based aid now. If they also intend to apply for need-based financial aid, Whitman will prompt them in October to complete and submit their CSS Profile so they can calculate the student’s full financial aid offer. Application fees waived for students who apply by December 1.
