The book a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is a story about a selfish, old man named Scrooge who is forced to make decisions to change his life and make sacrifices or stay the way he is and face the consequences. First, the reader can see how selfish Scrooge is, but slowly the reader can see the change in him. Part of the reason Scrooge is so bitter especially during Christmas is because his Fiancé broke up with him and his former partner, Jacob Marley died on Christmas Eve. This change starts when 3 ghosts come to haunt him. While these ghosts haunt him, they teach Scrooge valuable lessons. Finally, you may want to read this book because of it's use of figurative language. The figurative language in this book makes you feel as if your actually in London. In conclusion, you will want to read this book if you are looking for a story about a man who is trying to change his life and his future.
