Senior Planning Conferences (SPC)

CUNY Virtual Information Sessions
Grades 9-12
The City University of New York (CUNY) is the nation’s largest urban public university and is located in New York City. CUNY has 25 colleges spread across New York City’s five boroughs.
Students can learn more about CUNY by registering online to attend a virtual information session or by exploring which CUNY.
SAT Exam at BHS for Pre-Registered Students
Grade 11 and 12 who have pre-registered
Students who have pre-registered will be taking the SAT exam at Bellport High School at 7:00a.m. Click here to find out what to bring on SAT test day.

Senior College Application Workshops
Grade 12
Seniors will visit the BHS LIbrary with their English classes. The School Counselors will give a presentation on the college application process. Seniors will split into small groups to meet with the counselors.
Financial Aid Night Presentation
Grade 12 and Parents/Guardians
On Tuesday, 11/9/2021 at 7:00 p.m., seniors and their parents/guardians are invited to attend the Financial Aid Night presentation in the BHS auditorium. It is time to apply for financial aid at FAFSA so bring your questions!

Scheduling Presentations
Grades 9-11
The School Counselors will give presentations in each classroom about the courses available at BHS for the 2022-2023 school year. The information will include typical grade-level courses and the Course Description Guide. Students will complete an online Google Form with their course preferences.
SUNY Virtual Information Sessions
Grades 9-12
The State University of New York (SUNY) is the public college system in New York State. SUNY offers 64 institutions, including research universities, academic medical centers, liberal arts colleges, community colleges, colleges of technology, and an online learning network.
Students can learn more about SUNY by registering online to attend a virtual Information Session, by exploring the tools on Which SUNY, and by requesting a SUNY Viewbook.
Quarter 2 Credit Recovery Program Enrollment
November
Grades 11 and 12
The Credit Recovery Program is an afterschool program designed to give upperclassmen the opportunity to make up missed credits. This is for students who have previously completed a course but were not successful. The School Counselors will identify students in grades 11 and 12 who need to make up course credits in order to meet New York State graduation criteria. Students must meet attendance criteria to be considered for the Credit Recovery Program.
Financial Aid Workshops Hosted by Suffolk County Community College
Grades 9 - 12
Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) invites parents/guardians and students in grades 9 through 12 to attend a virtual financial aid workshop via Zoom called, "Financial Aid 101: Paying for College". Financial Aid 101 is a general overview of the types of aid, FAFSA, TAP, and loans, with some specific information about Suffolk.
Parents/guardians and students in grades 12 are invited to attend a virtual financial aid workshop via Zoom called, "Financial Aid 102: Applying for Financial Aid (22/23 FAFSA presentation is for current high school seniors)." Financial Aid 102 is a live, screen-by-screen walkthrough of the FAFSA application.
Both virtual workshops are open to everyone (parents, students) regardless if they are planning to attend Suffolk or not. Click here to register for an upcoming virtual financial aid workshop.
On-Site Admission Decision Days
Bellport High School seniors have the opportunity to receive a college decision on the spot. In order to participate, students will need to pre-register with the Guidance Office and submit their college applications online before the deadline. They will receive an appointment to meet with the admissions representative virtually for their decision!
Students must pre-register to participate. Click here to sign up for on-site admission decision days. By signing up you would be attending a virtual one on one meeting with a college admissions counselor who will go over your *completed* college application and receive an admissions decision immediately for that specific college.
Here are the colleges and the date of their virtual visit:
- SUNY Old Westbury: December 1st
- SCCC: Tuesday, December 7th
- SUNY Farmingdale: Thursday, December 9th
- St. Joseph’s College: Wednesday, December 15th
- LIU Post: Tuesday, December 21
Ongoing Guidance Services
College Fairs and College Visits
In addition to the in-person college and career fairs offered at Bellport High School for our students in the gymnasium during the school day on September 29th, 2021, and March 30th, 2021, the Guidance Office offers various opportunities for our students to connect with college admissions representatives live online. Students have an opportunity throughout the school year to register and participate in virtual college fairs and virtual college visits.

BHS Virtual College Visits
Colleges are offering virtual meetings for Bellport High School students to meet with admissions representatives in small groups. You must register online in advance to participate in these virtual meetings. Please follow these steps to register through your Naviance account. Check back as meetings are added throughout the school year:
- Log into your Naviance account. Please contact your counselor if you are using a new email address for your college applications and need to update your Naviance account or if you need to reset your Naviance password.
- In Naviance, click on the Colleges tab at the top of the page.
- Select College Visits from the drop-down menu.
- When you see a college you are considering, click on the View Details to the right of the college. Here you will need to click the link to register for this virtual meeting.

Transcript and Records Requests
Parents/guardians may access their child's academic records on the ParentPortal. The ParentPortal is not managed by the Guidance Office. For assistance with the ParentPortal, please contact parentportal@southcountry.org or call 631-730-1511.
Bellport High School current students may access their academic records on the StudentPortal or by contacting the Guidance Office.
Bellport High School graduates and alumni will need to complete this online form to request a copy of their transcript and records. Please allow at least 10 business days for this request to be completed.
If you have any questions about your transcript and records request, please call the Guidance Office at 631-730-1575 and press 3 for the Guidance Office.
Working Papers
Ages 14 - 17
For students ages 14 to 17 who need New York State Working Papers:
- Please follow these instructions
- Complete Part 1 only at the top of this form and have your parent/guardian sign it
- Bring this form to the School Nurse or your Physician to be completed, signed, and stamped
- Return completed forms to the Guidance Office. Your working card will be issued within 3 business days. You will need to sign for and pick up your working card in person in the Guidance Office.

Guidance Google Classrooms
Every student at BHS is invited to join the grade level Guidance Google Classroom corresponding to the year that their class is expected to graduate to receive important information throughout the school year.
