BRCC Automotive Program
Hi Seniors! If you are interested in a career working on cars - this is a great opportunity. Please check it out and let me know if you would like help with the application process. There are some tech schools that do a lot of heavy marketing to get students - yet BRCC has what you need right here locally (and costs less!).
The video has an excellent intro. I hope you will take the time to watch it if you are at all interested in an automotive career.

I look forward to helping you plan for life after high school - no matter what that plan might be!

TAHS CLASS OF 2021 Senior Picture Information
Congratulations, seniors! One of the first celebrations for seniors is taking a senior photo to be featured in the yearbook and local newspaper and to share with family and friends. It’s time to start to plan for this occasion.
DAYS: November 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13 TIMES: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm each day
WHERE: TAHS Auditorium COST: FREE (There is no sitting fee.)
Our senior photography process will look a bit different this year due to COVID, and we’ve had to make some changes to follow proper social distancing requirements and to maintain the safety of our students. We’ve also had to change the look of the photos since it is not safe for the photography company to provide the traditional tux/drape for students.
Here’s what you need to do:
BUY YOUR CLOTHING: Because we can’t use the traditional tux/drape options due to safety limitations, we would like to keep the look of seniors consistent and special.
FOR THE YEARBOOK/NEWSPAPER PHOTO: We are asking all boys to wear a white button-up dress shirt and a black tie (if you do not have a black tie, we can provide one for you and will sterilize it before and after use). We are asking all girls to wear a black dress shirt or black dress of their choosing (please no t-shirts or tank tops). At the end of the next page, you will find examples of this type of clothing.
If you have a tuxedo that you would like to wear for the photo, that is fine. The photographer will take that photo for you. You will, however, need to also take a photo of you in a white shirt and black tie for the yearbook.
SHOW UP/SAFETY PROTOCOL: Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment time. Report to the school’s auditorium. This space is large enough to ensure adequate social distancing for everyone during their appointment. We ask that everyone please wear a mask when entering the building. You will be allowed to remove your mask for the photos.
TAKE THREE PHOTOS: The first photo will be the formal photo. The second station will allow you to have a professional photo taken of you in the graduation gown holding a diploma and a tassel (no caps will be allowed because they can’t be sanitized). The gowns will be washed, steamed, and sterilized after each use. The third photo will allow you to take a casual photo (in a sports uniform, in a favorite outfit, with trophies/awards, etc.). Please bring the necessary props and/or outfits you will need for this photo. There will be several backgrounds from which to choose.
YEARBOOK/NEWSPAPER PHOTO: The formal photos (boys in white dress shirt/black tie and girls in black dress shirt or dress) is the one that will be printed in the yearbook. The photographer will submit the photo of your choosing to the yearbook staff so that you won’t have to worry about that.
A FINAL NOTE:
If you would prefer to take your senior photos with a photographer of your choice, you are welcome to do so. You do not have to take your photo at school. It is a free service that we provide, so we hope you will take advantage, but it’s not a requirement. If you do go to a studio or other photographer for your senior photos, we just ask that the photo you submit to the yearbook/newspaper is of boys in a white shirt and black tie or girls in a black dress shirt/dress/drape. Please have the photographer send the picture to lstevens@rockingham.k12.va.us by the senior picture due date of FEBRUARY 1, 2021.
If you have any questions, please contact Leslie Stevens at lstevens@rockingham.k12.va.us or 828-2008.
