From the teacher's pen
So, here we are with another short week down. A short week that felt longer than a 5-day week. I have very little new information, so I will make this as short as possible so as to not add to your screen time.
There is a teepee in our classroom now. It was made in the 60's by the grandfather of a (then) 1st grader. Grandfather was a Sak and Fox Native American. Stop by and check it out during Open House.
Writing/Typing Time
So much to write/type. So little time...
- research project

- Christmas reflection
Curriculum Updates
- Math - solving word problems with bar models (see examples on Youtube).
- Social Studies - Native American Cultural groups to conduct research using print material.
- Religion - starting Lectio Divina in the morning.
- Cursive - now reviewing upper case letters.
Busy Month Coming Up
- Catholic Schools' Week beginning with Open House
- Initial visit of the accreditation team
- Valentines Day to be celebrated on Feb. 13th
- Mardi Gras - also on the 13th
- Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent
Upcoming Events:
- First Friday Mass - Friday, January 19, @ 9 am.
- Open House - Sunday, January 28th 11am - 1pm - Students wear school uniform to Church
- Catholic Schools Week - Sunday, January 28 through Friday, February 2.
