From the Heart
Team,
I hope everyone had a fun weekend! Since we spoke on Friday afternoon, GCISD will be closed officially through April 17 and President Trump announced today that social distancing will continue through the end of April. So instead of April showers bringing May flowers, I'm hoping for April shelter in place, bringing May I can see people without the use of a device! :-)
We will meet in the morning at 10:30am for a quick check in. Every morning Monday - Friday students will receive a link to their daily schedule and teacher learning hours. After this week we can decide if this is working or if we need to find another way. Remember it is a work in progress.
Take care of yourself. It is amazing to me in the last 2 weeks of what I don't really need in my life. It is like we are all getting an opportunity for a "do over"! Look for the positives and enjoy the moments.
Always Grateful,
Bobbe

Lauren's Learnings
Hi guys,
This week we kick off Learning@Home week three - the Phoenix way! We are all aligned using a checklist template so that students will have certainty of expectations from their teachers in this uncertain time.
Bobbe sent the CA Students: My Daily Schedule that contains the links to our class checklists and the CA Teacher learning hours in the Phoenix News this morning. In addition to that, Matthew will be sending out the Student Daily Schedule and CA Teacher learning hours in an email each morning so that they have ample opportunities to come into contact with the checklist for your course.
A few things….
If you are hosting a Webex lesson, be sure to record it and place it in Google classroom with the date and content covered so that students who were not in attendance may view it at a later time.
Learning hours is a time when students know you are readily available to answer questions regarding content.
Link your checklist for the week in Google classroom.
It is critical that if Amberly provides support to students in your class that you share your checklist with her by Wednesday or Thursday of the preceding week.
Follow up with students you have not heard from.
Develop a list of students that you have not heard from after multiple attempts and update that list to Matthew’s spreadsheet.
**FYI: If you write anything in the Subject Area Learning hours tab, it will automatically populate to Collegiate Academy Learning Hours parent view. Please keep that in mind.**
I’m excited to start this week of learning. Please reach out to me if you need anything, and I’ll see you in staff meetings and grade level PLCs. :)
Thanks,
Lauren
