What's Happening in P.E!
Thank you so much to everyone that helped with JRFH! We improved our fundraising from last year by $180.36. We raised a grand total of $3,202.61 this year!!!!
This month we will be participating in an "in-school field trip" with Skate 101.
3rd-5th will be learning about the safety of inline skating such as wearing preventative safety gear, following the "rules of the road," and appropriate surfaces to skate on. The program will also focus on learning basic skills such as learning ways to stop, remaining in control, and how to turn and maneuver around obstacles.
K-2 is heavily focused on skating safety. They will learn how to put on the gear, what body parts the gear protects, and skating safety in their neighborhood. They will be using paper skates to learn basic maneuvers such as pushing off the floor and stopping.

Need a Brain Break?
Check out this awesome website: www.incredibox.com. It is an easy and intuitive way to let kids experiment and arrange their own original beatbox creations. Simply click, drag and layer the sounds to your liking. Students can even record their creations and save them on the website to share with others later!
What's Happening in the Library!
The March Reading Olympics is focused on advertising our favorite books and ways to read. Students are to get creative and create posters, videos, book buzzes, or write an announcement for the CNN highlighting one of their favorite books. If you have a student participating, send them to the library to get a list of suggestions.
This month, Library classes will...
-Help a new author by reading their first chapter and sharing what we loved and some suggestions. We'll hopefully have a book study with the rest of their book after STAAR testing! Check out the Padlet we sent with our suggestions so far: www.padlet.com/wigginsl/chapter
-Focus on changing a negative mindset to a positive one.
-Fact and opinion lessons
-Class research projects
-Introduce next year's Bluebonnet Books to students in 2nd-5th grade
And so much more!
