What's going on?
Class of 2027 😇
Our First project is in the books. The class of 2027 successfully hosted an easy/medium and hard Escape Rooms! Profits were made and the class is debating on how to spend/save their funds.
We will be transitioning to our next project! Stay tuned.

BULLYING & CYBER-BULLYING
Students this month will have the opportunity to learn about Bullying and Cyberbullying. Students will also gain a better understanding of how to identify warning sign of bullying, how to promote a safer school, and when the appropriate time is to inform an adult. I encourage family, friends, and guardians at home to be having these conversations with their students in order to shed light on what most students see often daily. In a recent study done, 1 and 5 students ranging from ages 12-18 will have been a victim of bullying in a given school year.
Physical Science
What is the physical world made up of....? MATTER. AND matter matters. Our project focus has turned to the nitty-gritty that is atoms & molecules; the aspects the make up our world and how these elements function within our bodies!
Upcycling
Now that there is snow on our garden and there isn't much more yard work to be done... We will be turning our focus to completing indoor projects; the first being, how to prepare the harvest for eating! The last of our harvest for the year was our brassica vegetables.
Pen Pals Letters
Students have taken their conversation skills and adjectives and have been putting them into pen pal letters!
Students are studying the Physics of Flight in a project where they are challenged to design THREE paper airplanes. 1) Flies the farthest, 2) Carries the most cargo, 3) Performs acrobatic tricks.
We are studying Newton's 1st and 3rd Laws of Motion, and one of Bernoulli's Principle of Fluid Dynamics!
IDLA CLASSES
IDLA assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, and tests adhere to a strict deadline with penalties for lateness. Once a unit closes, you cannot do the Discussion Board, and as I stated previously, do the Discussion Board immediately and respond to 2 classmates, depending on teacher instructions. You can usually re-do assignments, quizzes, discussion boards, and possibly tests for a better grade and again refer to teacher instruction.
You can always work from home or when you have free time in another class. If you are working from home, you can either access IDLA classes through Idaho Digital Learning Alliance (idiglearning.net)using your school email address for the user and whatever you put in for your password. Additionally, you can log into your IDLA classes through the school via Meadows Valley School (idiglearning.net) . If you forget your password or have trouble logging into IDLA, I can reset your password – just see me or email works, too.
Lastly, please do not forget that I am here for help; I am usually in the library all the time beginning at 7:50 AM until 3:30 PM. I will step out for bathroom breaks, meetings, lunch recess duty, and miscellaneous; however, I can be available if you send me an email or just let me know when you are coming for help.
Best,
Cynthia Holbrook
