Destiny
Log on with your AISD username and password.
Destiny is an online library that allows students and teachers to search their school library catalog.
Search for books or just log in to see what books you've already checked out.
Tumble Book Library

TumbleBook provides access to hundreds of children's books online both in English and in Spanish. Videos and activities are also available. Most of the picture books are about 2-3 minutes long.
In the primary grades students could listen to these stories during stations. (Perhaps you could make a QR code that links to the website and then have students enter the username and password.)
Students in the elementary grades could read/listen to the novels at home. Once they have finished the book, they could then take an Accelerated Reader quiz at school.
Pebble Go

PebbleGo is an interactive site to use with students in grades PreK through 3rd grades. It has four categories: animals, science, biographies and social studies. It will read the articles to the students. Great for beginning research on animals and biographies!
Britannica
Username: alvinisd Password: lonestar
Britannica Online is an online encyclopedia for elementary students which features videos, maps, pictures, animations and much more. This is a good resource for elementary age students.

Sora
Access SORA with student/staff Alvin ISD log-in.
Sora is the student app for Overdrive.
Sora is a new reading and listening app from OverDrive. With Sora, students can access a large collection of ebooks and audiobooks for independent and recreational reading. Students can read or listen to these books using a Chromebook, desktop computer, or personal mobile device.
1. On a computer: Go to https://soraapp.com using a web browser on any computer or device.
2. On a mobile device download either:
Sora in AppleiOS App Store or
Sora in Google Play Store
3. Tap “Find my school.”
4. Enter the username (student number) and password that you use to log in to school computers.
5. Tap on the Explore tab to search for and borrow a book. Your book will open so you can start reading or listening right away.
6.You can borrow a book for 14 days. You can borrow up to 3 books at a time. You can place holds on books that are checked out.
7. Close the book and go to your Shelf to see all your borrowed books. From there, you can:
- Tap Open Book or Open Audiobook to read or listen to a book.
- Tap Options to renew or return the book, get to your notes and highlights, and more.
Student Google/Gmail Accounts
This is how students have been set up in the past. If there is a change, I'll pass it on to you.
All Google/Gmail passwords are 8 characters using first name initial, last name initial, birth year and 00 (zero, zero).
For example, John Smith, student id: 765432, birth year:2012
Google/Gmail log in: 76532@s.alvinisd.net
Google/Gmail password: js201200
1st grade through 12th grade students will log in with their 6 digit id@students.alvinisd.net
For example, Mary Smith, student id: 654321, birth year: 2003
