From the Administration
Greetings, Parents,
Thank you for joining us last week at Parent-Teacher Conferences! We truly value your partnership as we strive to help all of our students thrive. Thank you also for the delicious snacks that you brought us. What a treat!
This week, we have had a fabulous Book Week. Yesterday, Author Kate Klise came to visit Romona and she was inspirational! She shared her beautiful stories with all of the children, while also talking about the writing process and the importance of not giving up. Thank you to iGNITE for providing all of our students with this amazing enrichment opportunity! Our Book Fair was a huge success, too! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers who made it happen.
As we head into Thanksgiving, we also want to thank the Romona staff. On a daily basis, we are overwhelmed by their compassion, hard work, and dedication to our students. We are so thankful to work at Romona where the staff is incredible, the parents are supportive, and the students are at the heart of everything we do. Romona truly ROCKS.
Happy Thanksgiving!

WINTER BIRD FEEDER EVENT
Come join us Sunday, November 25 from 2:00-4:00pm as we make homemade bird feeders to help our native birds find food and energy during the winter months. We’ll provide the supplies to make bird feeders using natural materials and will hang them on the trees when finished. Just meet by the community garden beds in Centennial Park, on the corner of Wilmette/Crawford. All ages welcome! This is a great way to support our natural ecosystem as well as do something that will be beautiful for the community! Sign up HERE!

SAVE-THE-DATE: THE 2019 ROMONA BENEFIT 2/23/19
Plans and cost of a new playground were announced last week! This effort will be entirely parent funded. Please help us! 1) ATTEND THE BENEFIT! Get 2-3 of your friends and do it together! We have the ideas/places for types of parties, we just need some hosts! Please contact Kimberly Newman, The 2019 Romona Benefit Chair, at romonabenefit@romonapta.org and find out more. Thank you in advance!
