Happy 2022!

Welcome back from what we hope was a fun and restful Christmas Break that was filled with quality time with your family. We are excited to return to Unity Preschool with many "winter" activities. We pray that the weather and COVID will cooperate. Please remember that we follow the Fort Mill School District (FMSD) regarding weather closures and if there is a delay we will not have Preschool.


January is our registration month so please return your registration forms and fees by next Thursday, January 20 so that you have a spot for next year. They were e-mailed to current students last Thursday or you can find the online registration form link in this Newsletter and on the preschool website.


Just a reminder that we will not have preschool this Monday, January 17 because the FMSD will be closed in recognition of the Martin Luther King holiday.

Color Days - White and Gray

As you can see below, our students had fun celebrating White Day last week. Our next Color Day is Thursday, January 20 and it will be GRAY DAY!

Spirit Day - TEAMWORK DAY - January 27

Our Spirit Day for January will be Thursday, January 27! Wear a shirt of your favorite team (professional or college - any sport). We will be reading stories about teamwork and working together on some fun art activities and games that require teamwork.

Chili for Children Fundraiser - ON-LINE

Traditionally, on Super Bowl Sunday, Unity Preschool has hosted a Chili for Children Fundraiser to raise money for our Preschool. This year, we are doing an online fundraiser and have asked our church members to donate what they would have in past years (suggested donation of $10/quart) to purchase our chili and soup. Donations will be used for our Unity Preschool Scholarship Fund. This Fund was established for preschool families to use for tuition when they face unexpected financial hardships such as a job loss during a school year.

Teacher Feature - Ms. Danielle

Teacher Feature - Ms. Danielle

Ms. Danielle is our Older Two's Lead Teacher and works with Ms. Jen. Ms. Danielle has been both a Two's Assistant and Four's Assistant. She also works in the Preschool Office on Mondays and teaches music to our Four's classes.


Ms. Danielle and her husband, Tommy, have two boys who currently attend Doby's Bridge Elementary school and are Unity Preschool graduates. Colton is in Third Grade and Daxton is in First Grade. Ms. Danielle attended Southeastern Louisiana University. She has several years of child care experience and was a former Children's Coordinator at her church, New City Church.


Below are some of Ms. Danielle's favorites:

Favorite Foods: Mexican and Thai

Favorite Music: Country and Pop

Favorite Book: Ms. Danielle loves anything by Elin Hilderbrand and loves a good Devotional. Breathing Room is her favorite right now.

Favorite Activities: She always enjoys going on trips with her family especially to the beach. She also enjoys walking every aisle of Target by herself drinking coffee.

Our Supply Closet Needs

We are almost halfway through our school year! We assessed our supply closet and would appreciate donations of the following:

* Two's - Cotton Balls

*Three's - Uncoated White Paper Plates

*Four's - Snack Size Ziploc Baggies

Current Student/Sibling Registration for 2022/23 School Year: Registration forms and fees are due January 20, 2022 to reserve your spot for next year. Here is a link to our online registration form: https://form.jotform.com/213056628044149. Please remember to also send your registration fee ($125 - Older Two's/Three's and $150 - Four's) and your Tuition Authorization Form.


Four's Conferences: Conferences for Ms. Maureen's class will be the week of February 21 and conferences for Ms. Elizabeth's class will be the week of February 28. Ms. Linda will send an e-mail with a sign-up link in early February.

*Warm Jackets and Hats: We go outside if the temperature is above freezing and it is not rainy or too wet. Please send your child in warm jackets, hats and mittens. They need and enjoy fresh air and exercise!


*Label Clothes: Please remember to label jackets/sweaters/extra clothes that you send to school so that we can make sure they go home with the correct child.


*Folder Reminder: Please remember to empty your child's folder at least every week!


*Tuition Withdrawal: Our next tuition withdrawal date will be Tuesday, February 1.

COVID Update

COVID Update

Thank you for your faithfulness in keeping your child home if you or your child are not feeling well. We currently have 5 students quarantined because of household contacts. We have had 9 quarantined since Winter Break with close contact situations and/or positive tests (the positive tests occurred during Winter Break so no classmates were impacted). Please be mindful of symptoms and test if you are not sure. If you have a positive test in your household or a close contact situation, please let Ms. Linda or your child's teacher know so that we can alert classmates and determine proper quarantine times if needed.
