Soledad Unified School District
Board Meeting of January 11, 2023
BOARD HIGHLIGHTS
PUBLIC HEARING - TRUSTEE ELECTION AREAS
The Soledad Unified School District held a public hearing on January 11, 2023, to gather public input on “draft” trustee area maps.
The Soledad Unified School District’s Board of Education is currently elected under an “at-large” election system, where Board members are elected by voters of the entire District. On September 14, 2022, the Board adopted Resolution No. 9-03-22, signaling its intent to transition to by-trustee area elections. In a by-trustee area election system, each Board member must reside within the designated trustee area boundary and is elected only by the voters in that trustee area. On or around January 4, 2023, the District will publish “draft” trustee area maps for the Board and public’s consideration. The maps will be published at the District website: https://soledadusd.org/trustee-area-elections/.
On January 11, 2023, the Board held a public hearing to receive community input on the proposed
trustee area maps.
