The Farmington Career Academy officially opened its doors on Thursday, November 9, 2023, providing a new hub for career and technical education (CTE) opportunities for high school students. The Farmington Career Academy, located on the campus of Farmington High School, will house a variety of programs designed to prepare students for in-demand careers in the healthcare, construction, and other CTE fields.
In its first phase, the facility will house the FHS Med Cert program, providing students with the skills and certifications needed to work as medical assistants, phlebotomists, and medical coders and billers. The program is open to juniors and seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. Additional the Health Science CNA program will be housed in the Farmington Career Academy.
Future phases of the building will include EMT courses, a construction program and an esports lab.
The Farmington Career Academy is a testament to the district's commitment to providing students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the 21st-century workforce. This facility is a result of the hard work and dedication of many people, including the maintenance and custodial and technology teams, the FSD Board of Education, FHS Administration and the community.
The Farmington Career Academy is a valuable addition to our school district and will positively impact our student body and community. We are excited to see the great things that our students will achieve in this new facility.

FSD Hires Consultant To Conduct Demographics Survey
The Farmington School District is pleased to announce that we have hired a demographer to study our district's enrollment trends and future projections comprehensively. This study will guide our long-range planning efforts, including future bond issues.
Our demographer is gathering data from various sources, including the counties surrounding our district and our school offices. This data will be used to develop detailed student enrollment projections for the next several years.
In addition to the demographic study, we are working closely with city and county officials to assess the impact of a new school building location on local street systems. These discussions will help us make informed decisions about necessary road improvements or additions.
We expect the demographic study results to be available by the end of December. Once we have this information, we will share it with the community and seek input on potential bond issue projects. We believe that it is essential to engage the community in the planning process for any upcoming bond issues. Your feedback will help us to develop a plan that meets the needs of our students and our community.
Please stay tuned for more information about the demographic study and the bond issue planning process.
