National Geographic Live: Zeb Hogan - In Search of River Giants

Join us for a live program and Q&A with Aquatic Ecologist Zeb Hogan! Every fisherman wants the biggest catch, and Zeb Hogan is no different. However, he's not just fishing for a trophy, but for a solution. From Mongolia to the Pacific Northwest, Thailand to Australia, Hogan travels the world looking for, researching, and protecting the world’s largest freshwater fish. His ultimate goal is to bring awareness to the increasingly fragile freshwater ecosystems and their endangered inhabitants.
All About Matter

Combine bubbles, eyedroppers, air in different states and you have an incredibly interactive program with staff from the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. We will focus on the unusual characteristics of water, use process skills to observe and ask questions using bubbles, and play with components of air in solid, liquid and gaseous states. Your students actively participate with staff throughout the program as they learn more about the interaction between different states of matter.

Once Upon a Tale (bilingual)

Throughout history, storytelling has played an important role in communities around the world. It imparts wisdom in an engaging manner, imparts life’s lessons and, most important, preserves our history from generation to generation. Charlotte Blake Alston is one of the leading storytellers in the country, and in this presentation brings her special insight to the fairy tales and folk tales of American culture. She will be accompanied by Claudia Acosta, making this a bilingual presentation.

Let your student’s imagination run wild with the Fort Worth Zoo! Did you know an African Lion’s roar can be heard up to 5 miles? Partnering with Connect2Texas, our animals can be heard and seen much further away! The Zoo’s mission is based on three principles: Conservation, Education, and Entertainment. We use a combination of live animals and animal biofacts to help your students hone their observation skills and inquiry methods as well as understand important biological concepts. Student will discover some of the world’s most amazing creatures from Africa to Texas, with lessons adapted to the TEKS and National Standards. We offer programs on a variety of topics, and if requested, can tailor a new program to meet your classroom’s needs.
