Bibb Schools Host 'BEARS in Bibb' Tours
On January 12, students from Mercer University's holistic child and secondary education programs took part in a series of "BEARS in Bibb" Tours of our schools. These students got to interact with faculty, staff and students at schools across the District and also participated in a panel discussion with District leaders at W. S. Hutchings College and Career Academy.
"This was a great opportunity for Bibb County to highlight everything the district has to offer, while also allowing Mercer Education students the opportunity to visit schools at each grade band and in different zones," said Holly Huynh, coordinator of talent management acquisitions. "The students walked away knowing more about our magnet and fine arts programs, our STEM schools and the great technology that students and teachers have access to. We look forward to many more such days in the future."
The day also included lunch at the Compass Rose Cafe. This was an excellent opportunity to show these future educators all the wonderful things that are happening in our schools!

He began as a paraprofessional before earning his certification to teach math. He is now a special education teacher at Veterans Elementary. He was given signs, cards and lots of well wishes from students and colleagues.
