Celebrating the 100th Day of School!

Friday, March 3/5, marks the 100th day of school!! It is nice to be able to look back and see all that has been accomplished! Students and teachers have worked diligently to overcome many challenges throughout the school year while meeting educational goals.

By tweeting between 3/1 - 3/5, and sharing some of the successes achieved this year, teachers will be entered to win a $100 visa gift card. Successes shared might include the way students have overcome the challenges of the pandemic, the ways that SEL is being achieved in the classroom, or a particularly noteworthy lesson or performance. This week also marks the beginning of "Arts in Our Schools Month."

Bands and Choirs Prepare for UIL Evaluation

The Seguin ISD middle school bands recently performed a concert performance at SHS for (3) UIL adjudicators followed by a short clinic with the adjudicators. Each group also rehearsed the UIL sight-reading procedures with an adjudicator to receive feedback for continued improvement.

The SHS Band recently had a two day guest clinic refining UIL music and fundamentals. The students displayed a strong commitment to excellence and are sounding great! Several SHS Band students are also currently preparing for an upcoming UIL Solo & Ensemble contest.

Cultural Arts Shine!

Mariachi Matador presented an amazing performance on January 28th that included outstanding vocals and instrumentals. Way to entertain!

Interest in Ballet Folkórico continues to grow with regular lessons at elementary campuses and club activities at the secondary level. Students interested in being a part of the first SHS dance class focused on Folklórico should enroll in "World Dance Forms" for '21 - '22.

Students Choose Courses for '21-'22

Check out the fine arts courses available in "Chart Your Course" from Seguin H.S. All students in high school are required to earn a minimum of one fine arts credit. There are many excellent options available!
