A Message from Principal Stephens
Dear Patterson Families,
Spring is in the air and with that brings some fun weeks ahead for our students. Read Across America Week and our annual Progress for Patterson fundraiser is February 27th-March 3rd. Between both events, students will be celebrating books, authors, having themed dress up days, raising money for Patterson, earning fun class prizes, and reading with a different theme each day. The following week is packed with field trips, school spirit assemblies, our 5th/6th grade regional track meet, as well as fitness and teamwork with our annual Field day
It is that time of year for students to shine with proficiency levels and individual growth. After Spring Break, we have our computer-based AASA/AZSci state testing for grades 3rd-6th. Testing will be from Tuesday, March 28th-Friday April 28th. The 5th Grade AZSci is on Wednesday April 5th and Thursday April 6th. Please look for information from your child’s teacher on their specific testing days and times.
It is important to have students in attendance, on time, and ready for their day. If at all possible, please schedule any appointments after school, especially during this testing timeframe. Families can help students prepare for the test by reminding them to get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy, full breakfast in order to have enough “brain fuel”.
Thank you for your continued support, our students have achieved so much already this year and I have no doubt that they will continue to rise to their full potential. On behalf of our staff, thank you parents for making Patterson amazing!
Warmly,
Sarah Stephens
Principal

News from CUSD Nutrition
Patterson Parents,
We are making some changes to our dining program to enhance the dining experience for your student(s).
In addition to offering hot or cold breakfasts ($2.00) and lunches ($3.00) daily, we are expanding our A La Carte menu (see Flyer below). In addition to their breakfast or lunch, students will be able to purchase water, milk, juice, cookies, and fruit snacks. Please note that items are subject to availability and not every cafeteria will offer every product. We recommend contacting your cafeteria manager to find out what is available for your student.
Students may bring cash with them or use money from their account to purchase snacks. As always, we ask that you visit www.myschoolbucks.com to keep up with your student’s lunch money account. You may also visit www.cusdnutrition.com to find up to date menus and more.
Items may be offered every day to our 1st – 6th grade (we will not offer A La Carte items to our Kindergartens). If you prefer not to have your student purchase from the A La Carte menu, please let us know. You can email me at Colon.Steven@cusd80.com
Thank you
Have a healthy day
