FMS BLAST
January 31st, 2022
Dear Parents:
Our first month to the new year is coming to a close. Students have gotten back into the swing of their studies after winter break. This quarter tends to be the hardest for students and teachers as we all feel the slump of the wintertime blues and the weight of the pressures that this time of year brings to someone dealing with the expectations of school. Spring is approaching, but maybe not quite quickly enough for some. This is a time that students often need that nudge and reminders to keep up on their classwork and keep their eye on the prize of summer break. Please know this is a natural occurrence we see during this period of the school year.
However, we don’t want our students to become apathetic in their studies. As we get closer to the spring state testing, we want to continue to give students gentle reminders on why it is always important to do their best and to keep current on their assignments. Not only will it help them to do better in their schooling, it will also help them to build more self esteem in their abilities.
I wish you a happy February as we kick off the new month this week. Have a great week, and month, ahead.
Appreciatively,
Dr. Terri Daniels
Important Information for Students Who are Out Ill or on Quarantine
Please note: Students who are having to miss school at this time due to illness or quarantine are encouraged to keep up on classwork by visiting their Google Classrooms or check out their teacher’s website for assignments. Many of our teachers have access to the lessons at this time via zoom or Teams and students should reach out to their teachers to find out if this is an option for them to log into so they don’t miss important information. We are still experiencing a high rate of absences and we want to make sure that students do not fall too far behind. Thank you.

Soon afterwards, local middle-schoolers joined us online and we walked them through competition-like questions.
