A Big Thank You for Teacher Appreciation Week
Our teachers and staff were treated to breakfast, desserts, chocolates, Chinese food, a Friday luncheon, and more during teacher appreciation week special courtesy of our school PTO. In addition, families sent in cupcakes, flowers, cards, and little tokens of appreciation to individual teachers of their children. Teachers were even able to sign up to receive hand massages! We are deeply appreciative of the parents and families who contributed to this effort and to families throughout the year who show their support of our teachers and staff.

District Preschool and Early Childhood Screening Brings out Families
It was so nice to meet new families and to welcome in the younger siblings of our current families who came to preschool screening on Friday. Honestly, there were so many adorable children! Sometimes you forget just how much smaller they all look when they are first preparing to start school.
Please share the word with families you know to call the office at (978) 249-2405 to schedule an appointment if they have a preschool age child. The district will be conducting screenings at other locations later this month.
MCAS MATH begins this week!
Dear Families,
We want families to know that MCAS math is scheduled for the following days:
- Grade 3 students will be tested on May 11 & May 16
- Grade 4 students will be tested on May 13 & May 17
Punctual school attendance is very important to school success and particularly during MCAS!
Set the Stage for Success:
There are five important things parents and guardians can do to help your child do his/her best on test days.
1) Get to bed in good time. A well rested child performs better.
2) Plan ahead to be on time and keep things calm. A rushed start always raises anxiety.
3) Make sure she/he has a good breakfast and a good healthy snack. Working brains need energy. Studies show that children and youth that eat breakfast perform better. We will also be providing a school breakfast to all students taking MCAS.
4) Remind your child to ask his or her questions. We encourage students to ask questions if they do not understand the directions.
5) Encourage a positive attitude. Let your child know that everyone finds tests daunting. Be cheerful and encourage your child to be positive about his/her abilities. At school, our school pledge for MCAS is “do your best.”
