Costa Rica Service trips!

Our family was so blessed to go to Costa Rica to serve at the largest Christain camp in South America. We went with four other families and two were fellow homeschoolers and plan to go back regularly (Lord willing!). It was truly an answer to our prayers to serve with our kids ages 12 to 18. We highly recommend this ministry and wanted to encourage many more to consider a trip like this in the future... for your family, small group, church, co-op, etc. The next family trip is schedule for Feb 10-17 and we are going back! There is only room for 12 more so contact Ray today if you are interested! . Learn more here or contact Ray ray@lama4youth.org for details on the specifics. He's a fantastic coordinator and made the trip so easy to plan and make so memorable!

Who we are?

Hope for Homeschoolers is a community of homeschool families whose mission is to support one another through Biblical based encouragement. As many of us have middle &/or high schoolers we survived the little years and our heart is to give back to those younger & seasoned moms through encouraging them through the joys and challenges of homeschooling. Our goal is to encourage and support families by making connections with like-minded families; sharing available resources; and providing mentoring relationships. We also desire to support those considering homeschooling by providing a place to seek information.

To fulfill this mission, Hope for Homeschoolers plan to gather the months of June, Aug, Oct, Feb, & April on Saturdays from 9:30 – 11:30 AM. These meetings give us the opportunity to hear from veteran homeschoolers and discuss a variety of topics concerning homeschooling.

Blessings from our ministry team,

Colleen Sprister, Dana Fohr, Jenna Clinefelter, Sara Ayala, Michele Higgs & Gisella Lickens Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.

Resources

1) A list of Douglas County private and public one or two day programs can be found here along with more information on starting homeschooling, independent schools, and HSLDA details here

2) Chec.org hosts many one day and the once a year Rocky Mountain Conference each June. View their website to find more details on upcoming events

3) ARE you New to homeschooling or just curious what your "style" is? According to this article "There are 6 main styles: Traditional, Classical, Charlotte Mason, Unit Studies, Unschooling, and Eclectic." Check out this quick quiz to see yours.

4) Are you curious about the implementation of the SB163, the school entry immunization bill, that goes into effect 2021 school year? You can find more information here. The bottom line is there is an exemption for homeschoolers who choose to partially, delay, or change the vaccine schedule so if you attend a private pay program like those listed below then nothing changes. BUT if your student(s) attend any sports or programs funded through the public school then you may be asked for documentation but there are still exemption options available. See the link for more details.
