Michelangelo
Biography
Michelangelo was born in Cuprese Italy, on March 6, 1475. He died February 18, 1564 in Rome. He spent most of his life in Florence, to learn how to be an artist. Michelangelo learned his art technique of Fresco Painting from Ghirlandaio. His life was normal, going to school and in his free time, he liked to visit the Pantheon and got inspired by the art from it. Michelangelo made architecture in a whole new level, painting on ceiling. His main patrons were Lorenzo de Medici, who taught him and supported him, also Bertoldo di Giovanni was another patron.

Michelangelo worked on this massive piece on the roof of Sistine Chapel, which is the name of it. This was created at 1508 and finished in 1512. The design of this piece was so shocking because no one ever thought of painting on the roof of anything. Michelangelo used a new technique called Fresco, which consists of pigment mixed with wet plaster to stick and look beautifully on a ceiling.
My Opinon
I find this piece so interesting to me because it was the first time art was on a ceiling and he did all this work completely by him self. Creating this magnificent art all by himself in under four years working eight hours a day shows pride in Michelangelo.
