FEBRUARY'S PAWS-ITIVE CHARACTER TRAIT IS...

CITIZENSHIP!

The PAWS-itive Character Trait for the month of February is CITIZENSHIP. Good citizens follow the rules, share with others and have self control.

PBiS Participant Recognition

Congratulations to the staff of MES on completing all the requirements to be considered a “PA PBS Network Participating Site” during the 2020-2021 school year. This school year is like no other and so the network adjusted requirements to their “Recognition” system. This year we have successfully met the criteria of 'Participating' and next year we will pick back up with where our 2019-2020 Tier 1 & 2 PBiS status left off.

Tiger Point Weekly Tallying

WOW! We are really racking up the Tiger Points around here!

Kindergarten - 9,074

Grade 1 - 8,912

Grade 2 - 6,185

Grade 3 - 5,948

Grade 4 - 7,371

Grade 5 - 8,507

Grade 6 - 7,073

For a GRAND TOTAL of 53,070 Tiger Points so far this school year! Keep up the great work, MES!

What Are Tiger Points?

Tiger Points are given when students are demonstrating expected behaviors by following ROAR Expectations. Once a grade level collectively banks 1000 Tiger Points, they receive an extra 30 minutes of outdoor recess!

2020-2021 PBiS Goal

Did you know that as of February 5, 2021, 94% of our students have one or fewer behavior referrals? 375 out of our 400 students have received one or fewer behavior referrals for discipline thanks to our school-wide support and commitment to PBiS (Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports)! Our students are making great choices and learning quickly to avoid repeating bad ones!

Our overall goal is to have 85% or more of our kids receive one or fewer minor/major behavior referrals this school year. We are on track to meet that ambitious and worthwhile goal!

UPCOMING DATES

NO SCHOOL

School is not in session on Friday, February 12 or Monday, February 15, 2021. Enjoy your long weekend this month!

Spring Pictures

Lifetouch will be here next Friday, February 19, 2021 for spring pictures. Lifetouch no longer offers the "spec" packages, meaning print the pictures for all students before ordering. The change was made to eliminate waste and reduce the amount of time schools have to spend collecting and trying to get everything paid for. Spring pictures will be similar to fall, meaning pre-ordering.

There will be NO retakes. Any paid package that is unsatisfactory to the parent can be returned for a refund from the company.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone's smiles!
