Greetings Elm Families,


We hope everyone had a wonderful week! We are only a few short weeks away from the end of the Trimester. As a reminder, please check in on your student and their progress. If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to your students teachers!


Next week the EPHS Counselors will be in to visit with our 8th grade students! Read more below! We're so excited to start this process with our Cougars!


We have no school tomorrow Friday, January 28th as it is a District Institute Day for our teachers and staff.


Additionally it's time for our 5Essentials Survey. Take a few minutes and complete this survey, your feedback is greatly appreciated.

News, Updates and Information!

Course Selections 2022-2023

8th graders will be meeting with the counselors from EPHS this week during Civics to review course options and then again on the 7th and the 8th to select courses.


6th and 7th grade students have been busy meeting with Ms. Garay our School Counselor to work on their course selections for the 2022-2023 school year. Should you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to Ms. Garay, Ms. Groeneveld or Ms. Spiewak.

West 40 Advocacy Program - Student Support

We are fortunate to be adding additional support and resources for our students! Through West 40, we have two Advocates or individuals who will be in the building to help support our students. Our Advocates are brought to us through a program called ALOP, Alternative Learning Opportunities Program. Advocates are here to support students academically, socially and emotionally. 6th Graders Floor Hockey Pick Up Game

Any 6th grader is welcome to play floor hockey this Sunday, January 30th at the Elmwood Park Rec Center from 2:30-3:30pm. No pre-registration needed, just come and play!

8th Grade Dance Information!

8th Grade Parents, please see this letter for more information about this year's 8th Grade Dance. Dinner will be provided and the theme is Glow in the Dark. The PAT has started collecting payments, advisory teachers will accept payments and we will get them to the PAT!

Arrival & Dismissal for Winter Weather Reminders

Please remember that during the colder months students can enter the building no earlier than 7:45am. If they would like to enter before the normal 8am arrival time, they must enter through Door One.

If a student is going to be absent from class, a parent or guardian should call our Attendance Clerk at (708) 583-6600 or email elmattendance@epcusd401.org.


When calling, please spell your child’s last name and give their student ID number.
