November 2020
Book Fair Has Started!
This year's book fair will be November 1st-14th online at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/amsterdamschool1.
The online fair will have a full selection of books for all ages. It's a great way to shop the whole collection without sending money to school or worrying about the fair running out of the most popular books. Grandparents and relatives can also shop at our online fair and help support our school while getting fantastic Christmas gifts.
There will also be a mini-fair of the most popular titles during Parent-Teacher Conference times on November 12th and 13th. The mini-fair will be in the library. You can reserve a time on this form.
Some of your child's favorite library books were probably purchased with funds from previous book fairs. Nonfiction animal books, graphic novels, and favorite chapter books are often purchased with these funds.
New this year, eWallet
eWallet is a new purchasing option for the Scholastic Book Fairs. It is an alternative to sending cash or checks. You set up an account from the book fair home page, add just the funds you want your child to use and you're done. Any unused funds can be spent at the Scholastic Store or online fair.
Cash, checks, and credit cards will all still be accepted at the mini-fair. Students will be able to purchase books during their library time and any family members can make purchases during Parent-Teacher Conferences times.
Bookmobile News
If you would like to place holds for the Bookmobile to drop off, it's a very simple process. Simply log into the Bozeman Public Library catalog, place your holds, and select Bookmobile as the pick up location.

Caring for Amsterdam Library Books
Books returned to the Amsterdam Library will be quarantined for a minimum of 72 hours before being checked in and returned to circulation.
Studies have shown that the COVID-19 virus is undetectable on book covers after 72 hours and book pages after 24 hours.

If you’d like to clean the covers as an extra precaution, please use only an alcohol or hydrogen-peroxide based cleaner and gently rub it over the cover with a slightly damp soft cloth or cotton ball. Please do not attempt to clean pages.
If pages are torn or become loose during the school year, simply return the book to school with a note. The library has special tapes and glue to fix books. Please don’t try to fix at home.
