Dichotomous Keys
By: Mason and Grace
What is it?
A dichotomous key is a sequence of steps that allows the identification of a living thing. The key will consist of a series of choices that lead you to the correct name of a given item. Dichotomous means that there will be two choices in each step of the key until the item is identified.
How do you use it?
It's a key. The key will have a series of choices that lead you to the correct name of a given item. There will always be two choices in each step of the key until you identify the organism. You read the first two sentences, then whichever one you pick, you'll read the next step from that chosen one.
