Work and family schedules have you feeling a little đ”âđ«?? Allow a little enticement to treating yourself to a night out! Get the babysitter lined up now and come join the other wonderful parents of Park Village Elementary for a âParent Night Outâ Thursday 11/10/22 at âCrafted Cultureâ from 6:30-8:30pm.
Buy yourself a drink, a bite to eat, and give yourself the night off, guilt-free. It will be an informal way to mingle with other parents from our school, while also supporting a local businessâ âCrafted Cultureâ. It will also be raising $ for our school. Stop by for just a bit, or stay the entire time if you can?!
Crafted Culture is offering a 10% giveback to our school from Park Village sales that night, so make sure you mention this when youâre closing out your check!!
It takes a âvillageâ as they say đ, so come immerse yourself in the Park Village Elementary, parentâs community! Youâll be so glad you did!
Please Help Increase Our School Funding by Filling Out This Application!
Although school meals are now free to all students, the application for free and reduced-price meals is still very important. School funding depends in part on the number of students at our school who qualify for free or reduced-price meals. With all students now eating for free, fewer families are completing the application and our school is at risk of losing much-needed educational funds. Plus, students who qualify for free or reduced-price meals may also be missing out on discounts on bus transportation, before and after school care, and home internet!
Even if you did not qualify before, but your income has changed, you may now qualify. For example, children from a family of four are eligible if the total gross (pre-tax) household income is less than $4,279 per month, or less than $51,338 per year. Household income information is confidential and applying online is quick and easy. Apply online at MySchoolApps.com, or pick up a paper application in the school office.
CALIFORNIA HEALTHY KIDS SURVEY:
Dear Parents,
Park Village Elementary and the Poway Unified School District are conducting a survey of parents as part of our school and district continuous improvement process. We value parent input greatly and appreciate your participation in the short survey found at the link below. The survey answers should be specific to our school site. If you have students at more than one school, you will need to do a separate survey for that school using that schoolâs link.
The Parent survey is aligned with the state mandated California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) given to students in grades 5, 7, 9 and 11, and the individual site Staff Survey also to be conducted this month. We will be using these student, staff, and parent surveys to gain a better understanding of our parentsâ view of our schools and how we can best support our students. All of the survey results will be used as part of our state required Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). For further information on the California Healthy Kids Survey, click this link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1o5_VU9_L6_keUVvELx8W1h0_6LXG_5W8/view?usp=sharing
The survey link will be active through November 18th, 2022.
Thank you for your assistance.
Please click on the link below and you will be taken directly to your schoolâs survey.

A reminder from our School Health Tech, Ms. Stephanie
Hello PV Parents,
We have seen an uptick in colds/flu lately, so we wanted to send a gentle reminder. If your child has any complaints of any symptoms, please keep them at home and notify our attendance. The number for the attendance line is 858-538-0437. Please include your studentâs: name, grade, teacher, and *reason for absence (this is the most important piece of information next to your studentâs name).
Any student that comes to the health office and presents with symptoms will be sent home as we are trying our best to prevent any spread to the rest of our school community.
If your student is home or is sent home due to symptoms, we ask that they please test for Covid (you may share the results with me via email: scahiwat@powayusd.com ) and stay home until symptoms are significantly improved. If you bring your student to see a doctor, please provide us with the doctorâs note.
We appreciate your understanding and commitment to a healthy campus for all our Penguins.
With Gratitude,
Stephanie C.
