More than a school, we ARE a FAMILY!
Mission Statement
St. Anthony Catholic School celebrates each individual as a unique child of God, provides a safe, Christ-centered environment that promotes cultural diversity, academic achievement, and challenges each of us to serve the school, parish, and community.
Message from Mrs. Becker
We are in the process of planning for the 2022-2023 school year. Please take the time to complete your registrations for returning students. We get daily calls for families interested in St. Anthony Catholic School. We are hoping to have three preschool classes. If you have a family member or friend looking for a preschool, we will have plenty of room. The application link can be found on the school website.
Have a blessed and happy week as we begin Lent.
Prayer for Peace in Ukraine
Once more we hear the guns of war,
Once more we see the faces
Of frightened children.
We pray for the people of Ukraine,
That they may be granted peace;
We pray for the people of Russia,
That they may demand peace;
We pray for our country,
That we may be a positive part
Of peacemaking in this world.
O Prince of Peace,
Lead us from this dark time
To a deeper understanding
Of the global human family,
So all may break bread together
In the secure embrace of peace.
Amen
Jane Deren, Ph.D.
Terra Nova Testing grades 2-8
Dear families,
Terra Nova Testing began on Tuesday, February 22 and continues this week for students in grades 2 through 8. The testing window is three weeks, although there are only 7 actual testing days.
How can you help your student do well? Terra Nova is not a test that students can study for; it is a standardized test to gain knowledge of how each student is doing academically.
Parents can help ensure success by:
· Being sure their child gets proper rest by going to bed and sleeping 8+ hours/nightly
· Getting to school on time
· Giving their child a good breakfast
· Providing a healthy snack and water for school
Please have students arrive to school on time. Once the test starts, we cannot admit students into the classroom. They will be held in the office until a break in the test.
Teachers will only being doing small academic tests like Spelling for the duration of the seven day testing period. Homework will be reduced as well to allow for students to rest the nights before.
Thank you for your help and partnering with St. Anthony Catholic School to ensure your child is successful. Please feel free to contact Mrs. Becker with any questions.
Blessings,
Mrs. Becker
THANK YOU
We also appreciate you for returning the Income Verification Forms. All students in families who sent the forms, paper or digital, back to school will receive a NUT Day Pass for March 7 and 8.

Scholarship Updates
The state of Florida has changed the scholarships for the 2022-23 school year. It appears they have opened them up to provide broader availability for families. The diocese has compiled a one page information sheet that should help families understand the changes. You will find the information sheet attached.
Please be aware that the application for scholarships from the state will not be available until mid to late March is what we are hearing. However the information regarding the scholarships is good information to know so you can prepare if you are planning to apply. All state scholarships are first come first serve.
