21st Century Cyber Charter School Newsletter: February 2021
Notes From Our Principals
Hello to our students and families of 21st Century Cyber Charter School,
We have had a great start to Quarter 3 and it’s hard to believe that the first semester is complete! Please continue to keep up all of your hard work as we head into the second half of the year.
As a short month, February is filled with plenty of virtual events and opportunities for students and families. Please continue to keep up to date on deadlines and events through Moodle and our social media pages.
Staff and teachers have been busy preparing for the 2020-2021 PSSA and Keystone testing, but we also need students and families to work alongside us, so please be sure to keep an eye out for emails with testing details in the future. We will be testing this year just like we have in years past. PSSA testing will take place on 4/27-4/29 and Keystone testing is scheduled for 5/18-5/20. We will share new information as it becomes available.
Again, we would like to provide a reminder to keep students on track for the rest of the 2020-2021 school year: As a school, we have embraced the challenges of the recent past and are striving ahead towards our goals. Let’s focus on what is in front of us, not what is behind us. Don’t forget these strategies for success:
Talk it out- Be sure to speak with your advisor - via email, phone call or in the VO and just keep in mind, they’re there to help you!
Think of what’s ahead - focus on the Spring, Summer - fun events you have coming up. Staying focused will help you work towards the future!
Work with your classes - whatever live class you have on a given day, read, study, and submit your assignments.
Greetings 21CCCS students and families! We hope that you are all well and settling into the
year of 2021. The month of February brings us Valentine's Day. It is a special day to let your loved ones know just how much you care about them. We all know that love can be expressed in many different ways. After all, “the giving of love is an education in itself” (Eleanor Roosevelt). Spreading love and kindness shows others that we care about them no matter our situations, differences, or backgrounds.
Here are three ways to show love this month:
Acts of kindness - Do something kind or helpful for another person. Perhaps you can do an extra chore around the house for your family. Perhaps you choose to donate to a local food bank. Remember - oftentimes, actions speak louder than words.
Quality time - When you devote your time and attention to someone, it makes that person feelthat they are a priority. It makes them feel special. Perhaps you can play a game with a
younger sibling or call a family member on the phone that you have not spoken to in awhile.
Words of empathy - Empathy is the ability to understand and share in the feelings of anotherperson. Taking time to listen and understand another person’s thoughts or feelings makes that person feel important and heard. Perhaps you set aside time to truly listen to what your friend is saying and acknowledge their viewpoint. Perhaps you express your appreciation to your family members or friends.
Remember that love can have many meanings and can take many forms. We hope that duringthis month, you feel a sense of love all around for yourself and others.
All the best,
~ Mrs. McCoy, Mrs. Moynihan, Ms. Cooke, Mr.Galiczynski, Mrs. Faust, Miss Bright, Mrs. Thorne, & Ms. Fiore

Community Feedback Forum
The Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and Interim CEO, Brian Cote, will be holding a monthly 21CCCS Community Feedback Forum for both parents and students. This will be an opportunity to learn about the process of the school’s curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Parents and students are encouraged to share information on things that have been going well for our school, as well as ideas/suggestions to move our school forward. This forum will not be a question/answer session. If parents or students have questions during the forum, our staff will work to respond to those questions in our monthly Flex Gazette.
