The Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier Counties is pleased to continue to offer nonprofit organizations free access to Foundation Directory Online, including one-to-one, customized support and training for nonprofits using this comprehensive database of funders and grant opportunities.

About FDO

The Community Foundation now is a Funding Information Network partner of Candid offering you access to Foundation Directory Online (FDO). As a partner, the Community Foundation provides free access to comprehensive information available on foundation and corporate giving. We are offering electronic access as well as professional support to nonprofit organizations. All first-time users should sign up for a 30-minute training session.


Foundation Directory Online is database of information on a variety of funders as well as an inside look at grants they have made and the types of nonprofits they support. FDO contains information on more than 235,000 private foundations, corporate funders, U.S. Federal funders, public charities, as well as international foundations.

How to Access FDO Training and Database

Have a new project that you are trying to fund? Want to expand your reach to funders? Fill out this interest form and the Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Support Specialist Sapna Hencinski will reach out to you to set up a 30-minute training on utilizing FDO Essential. Sapna is a certified by Candid as an FDO expert.
