Glows and Grows

Glows: Thank you to Mr. Suarez and Mr. Amos for their assistance in handling a difficult situation early last week while I was off campus for a meeting. Your calm, professional demeanor is appreciated. Thank you to Mr. Linnet for your work in preparing the Collaborative Options. The work in creating the documents and holding votes is appreciated. Thank you to Ms. Carnahan and B7 for taking a lead in promoting recycling efforts. Lastly, a shout out to Ms. Wilcox and the many other many staff members for organizing, promoting, and creating displays for the Multicultural Night event.

Grows: For a second week in a row, as we enter spring time, let's commit to making sure we are reinforcing positive behavior across the school with our Tier One efforts (positive language, Paw Prides, Good News Referrals, positive phone calls home, simple good jobs). Also, continue to remind students of our expectations and enlist extra practice for those that need it.

SHORTER CAASPP Tests

Yes, you read that right. California reduced segment one of ELA performance task (PT) to 1-2 questions. They didn't, however, approve language to reduce the recommended time allotment until recently.

They have NOW approved language to send to districts. The language states that the ELA PT can be done in one day. Please take note that we have given permission to remove Day 2 of the ELA PT. Please work in collaborative this week to remove that day from the testing schedule. Please let me know if you have any questions.

CAASPP Preparation

Don't leave your students unprepared for the CAASPP platform. Take advantage of the practice and training tests at: http://www.caaspp.org/practice-and-training/index.html

Also, please be sure to notify parents of your grade level testing schedule so they are aware. If you have any questions or NEED ANY ASSISTANCE, don't hesitate to reach out for help.
